I have an Otterbox Armor case on my Galaxy S3...it's too fucking big.

I keep thinking about getting something smaller and lighter...but this thing is TOUGH! I just stick the phone in my back pocket and never worry about forgetting it when I sit down...it's almost indestructible.

I dropped my phone from waist level and the overrated Gorilla glass cracked in multiple places. Instead of paying several hundred dollars to have the screen assembly replaced I put a screen protector to protect myself from cutting my fingers as I wait until the contract ends and I get a new phone

For general use?
Nope, no matter what anyone says your screen will look worse and feel worse with one on.
Obviously if you're worried about resale and the guy after you enjoying your phone more than you then go for it.

Depends on the quality of the screen protector

If you go with:
www.bestskinsever.com
www.bodyguardz.com
www.zagg.com

They are much higher quality than the crap you find on eBay and Amazon. Love mine.

I've been able to get more money from selling my 2-year old used phone than the cost of a brand new, latest-and-greatest model. So yeah, resale value is important to me.

Yup

Lg g2:
Iloome tempered glass screenmate flex
w/ spigen slim armor case

Tried the last two, not tried the first.

Me I'd rather own and get the best experience out of my phone rather than act like I'm borrowing it from the guy that's going to buy it off me.

Like I said no protection feels better but if you're worried about how the guy who comes after you feels then your probably better using protection.

Neither rigid case nor screen protector on my HTC One. Got it last July and not a scratch. I do place it an a 70s soft calculator pouch though in my pockets. Used both on the Palm Pre that preceded it.

For me personally, there is no difference in "experience" between case/protector and no case/protector. But then again, I'm not one of those people who is glued to their phone every second of the day; it is not an appendage of me.

But getting a new phone for free, I like that.

Overrated.... because you dropped it and it shattered. Snort.

Yes I love my army of glass screen protectors. Wouldn't have it any other way. Dropped my S4 four feet on its face today and didn't even flinch.

It's not meant to prevent shattering. It's meant to prevent scratching.

no, plus I have so many phones sitting around that it honestly doesn't matter if something happens to one of them.

it does have a higher impact resistance vs non strengthened glass but its not indestructible

most drops end up being edge impact or 2 stage impacts where 1 side hits first and then the other slaps down (think a fly swatter)

edge impacts are horrid for ANY glass and the 2 stage impacts are not far behind especially when doing it on a rough surface

also phones without bezels (iphone 5) are more likely to edge impact

I use the Spigen black Nexus 5 case. It's not that bulky which I love. The edges are raised enough for added protection.

I love the naked feel as well, but I always worry about the accidental drop. No matter how careful we are it's bound to happen at least once. I'd rather have something wrapped around my phone when this happens.

I just recently bought the Bugdroid Circuit Intelligent Wallet. It's a decent case and cover both front and back. I really like it and for $20 the price was right. The onle thing the back is glued on.

I have an Otter Box Destructor case. I have only touched my Galaxy S4 once...and that was to take it out of the box and put it inside the case.

Otterboxes offer amazing protection but I don't think I could use one.

The bulkiness was a huge deterrent for me.

Screen protector no case. If you are careful with the application of screen protectors, they don't look crappy and take all the beatings of keys and such

Still? I never did. Same with phone cases.

I just use my phones "naked" or whatever. Always have, and probably always will. I take good care of my stuff though.
