I can't stand Otterbox cases... I don't see the point in going that extreme unless you've got little kids playing with your phone or work on a construction site or something.

but I've got a thin case for added grip when I'm holding it (Galaxy S4 back is plastic and slippery) and a screen protector just from paranoia based on experiences with older phones (basically, my keys destroying the screen). really can't even tell that there's a screen protector on it.

I never used a case until that slippery S4 squirted out of my hand and landed on the concrete the day before i had to fly out on a business trip. The screen shattered like a NBA backboard, it stayed intact but running your finger across it was just asking to be cut. I found a place that replaced the screen that day but the touch screen got really quirky after the replacement. so when i got my S5 which happens to just as slippery as the S4 I got a otterbox defender case. i love it.

Nope. Had a glass screen protector which was a huge failure, and have been running with nothing ever since. It's nice not having to worry about corners coming up, or dust that got under the thing, etc

I love UAG... provides exactly the amount of grip I need without being overly bulky like an OtterBox. my friend has one and it just boggles my mind; seems to make her iPhone twice as thick.

this is what I'm using on my S4 -- http://www.amazon.com/URBAN-ARMOR-GE.../dp/B00CJY8ZSO

I'd probably get another one with my next phone. not sure if it was the case or just luck, but my phone fell out of my pocket straight onto concrete a couple weeks ago, and absolutely no signs of damage.

Yeah I use one along with a case that has a back and front cover. Can use the Galaxy S4 with the thin protector on for most things. But I take it off for movies and other videos.

When it's not on the S4 I put the protector in a manila folder cut to its size to keep it flat and fairly clean. And the manila folder stays in my shirt pocket for easy access.

If you care about resale value, use both a case and screen protector. If you don't, then sport it naked.

Which screen protector do you use? I can always tell I have one, by the amount of cleaning I have to do...
