Do you own a suit

I have two. One I bought from Brooks Brothers and it's my "power suit" so to speak. It looks great, feels great and will likely last me practically a lifetime. The other is off the rack from Nordstrom.

Just bought a nice suit separate. I have two other suits, but they were kind of the cheap men's warehouse stuff and they don't look great if I were to wear them for a nice evening out. Weddings, yes, night out, no. The main motivations for the new suit, though, were a 50% off all inventory sale and an upcoming trip to Alinea where jackets are required. Now when I go there, if Grant Achatz sees me in my nice-looking jacket, he will have no choice but to offer to be my personal chef for life.

Microfiber: Fine for a Halloween costume but not much else. Stay away from any suit made from microfiber.

Teflon: The same comments that apply to microfiber also apply to Teflon. Unless you plan to fry an egg on your sleeve, stay away from it.

I thought your Canadian Tuxedoes were made of denim? Of course, man, microfiber is no substitute for denim.

Thanks a lot you sons of bitches... all of you.

I finally blew $300 on an H&M suit. I've been browsing them for the past half year, but resisted the temptation each time. All of a sudden, I had a 'f*** it ' feeling today and bought it.

You're probably saying H&M suits are cheap, ya, but I'm 5'4.5" (you know you're short when you stop using whole numbers) and it's hard to find something that fits so well for less than $500.

Now I have a black one and a grey-striped one. Weee...

Five for work

I've misplaced one at the moment, though, and one's a beige one I try to keep locked up until summer.

What I really, *really* need more of are more dress shirts and ties

2 Jackets that some people seem to think constitute suites... and then 1 Italian cut(my personal favorite), and 4 others.

I have 4. I'm 23. I can't find the slacks for one of them though. One is charcoal. One is white linen. One is patterned beige and another is patterned black.

When I have the choice, I get two pairs of pants per suit...they get worn out faster

I used to have 2 that were bought in store (one was from Macy's, the other from Hechts), they didn't fit all that great so I ended up donating them to salvation army...

I have 3 now that were custom tailored (black, very dark blue with pinstripes, darker gray). Bought the cloth here (G Street Fabrics) and they were tailored in India while I was on vacation. My dad does this all the time (has used the same tailor in India for the past 15years). End up paying ~200 bucks (including price of very good cloth) for a custom tailored suit... can't really beat that!

Yup. That's what I did with mine, except I bought the cloth and the labor in Iraq...
