do you now or have you ever shopped at walmart?

inspired by the check cashing post...

it was pretty much the only place to shop in college. local stores were overpriced to prey on sucker freshmen without cars on campus and they closed early, so around 8-9 pm at night on a weekday when your homework was done and you were finally ready to go do your shopping, the only store open other than bars and restaurants was wally world.

don't really shop there on a regular basis anymore, but I did buy a bunch of stuff for my new apartment at Walmart right after I had moved into it last summer (just little things like hangers, utensils, laundry hamper, and a couple lamps after I discovered on my first night in here that there was no actual light in the living room)

All the time. Target is lame and closes before the fucking sun goes down. Drugstores are expensive. Walmart is cheap, open 24/7, and EMPTY when I do my shopping (early in the AM, lol). Perfect.

I shop there probably not more than once or twice a month.
(I don't do that much shopping if that makes any difference)

I don't get my groceries from them.
Aldi's, Shoppers, and Giant are closer to me than Walmart.

I have gone in a couple times to see how it is but any one I've seen within 20 miles has the scum of the universe in them. I'd gladly pay a little more and not have to deal with that.

JohnCU is just a post count whore..

Yes, I have and probably will in the future. They sell a lot of stuff for cheap. I rarely go there anymore though, as I have no need to buy anything there. 😛

YA RLY... ?????

What....?

I go there when I HAVE to go when money is tight (Holidays). Other than that, hate seeing so many women with more facial hair than me. It's like all the white trash congregate there...like Old Country Buffet.

I wish I had a 24-hr walmart by me... guess it's not such a big deal anymore (especially now that I buy real food and don't just shop out of the stoufer's shelf in the frozen food aisle), but I totally relied on 24 hour grocery stores like WM when I worked the 5 pm - 1 am night shift at work.

Used to quite often, but now its way on the other side of town and Target is closer so I go there instead.

Wal-mart makes sense. It is a department store with one marketing angle: low prices. It doesn't pretend to be anything else. I shop on the basis of getting a low priced item that is otherwise identical to some other store's higher priced item. Wal-mart will fare pretty well in this down economy, as they are already showing. For every person that can no longer afford Wal-mart, there is some other person that newly can afford nothing else.

I don't make a point to go there but have no issues going there either.

I do make a point to get ammo from there though since they tend to be the cheapest place around.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart very often, it's a longer drive than some other stores, but it's just another place to shop for me.
