No, I dont have to call her and tell her where I am. I dont have to get approval to go out. I live in a apartment and dont have to mow a lawn. I can do housework at my leisure, like laundry and dishes, unless there are friends coming over, then ill help clean.

What if it too late and she is getting ready for bed, and she doens;t want you going out getting all sweaty and making a racket in the house coming back? Those are a lot of things you need to deal with with a wife that you don't have to deal with single.

My wife doesnt care if I come home late. It all depends on the person, not everyone is controlling.

same here. My wife doesn't care if I am late, she justs wants to know when I will be home.

Hey miri, does your wife have a sister? ;) :p

Man, you just wouldn't believe me if I told you (but I will anyway ;)).

this girl I'm with now said I can have it WHENEVER I want, WHENEVER. I said "What about if you're asleep?"....she said "Have at it, I don't mind."! I said "Should I wake you first?", she said "No, just go ahead, it'll wake me up.".

I have trouble keeping up with her. I'M the one who says "I'm tired" or "I'm not in the mood" (only if 24, Lost, The Sheild, or House are on), but she usually talks me into it anyway. She says I can watch TV while she takes care of things. I can't argue with that.

Oh no!, I never deny her, I just ask for a few minutess to recoup. She actually asked if I take Viagra, which I don't, because our record for one Sunday was 10 times!

Trust me, her friends actually are asking to join in and she's considering it too.

where's the in between poll?

i'm single and have been forever.

while i do enjoy the freedom and stuff like that, i do wish i had someone to share stuff with and someone that cared about me.

I agree with that. I will add it to the poll.

**EDIT**

Actually, let's leave it the same.

YOu have to choose whether you like it more or hate it more. No in betweens because that is indecisive.

but how can one choose when you've only known 1 way? do you choose the only way you've ever known? doesn't that kind of skew the results?

Nope, it makes you decisive. I have never been in a long term relationship with anyone. I have gone out on a few dates (not many), and I hang out with girl friends (I used to work in an environment where there were only girls so that was an eye opener). Girls have been interested in me, I have been interested in a few girls. Not many of the girls that were interested in me, I saw myself being in a long term relationship with although they were all cool people, so I just treated them as friends and didn't pursue the matter (I made sure not to lead them a long just treat them with respect). I am mostly a guys-guy though. I am in the same boat as you, except that I know that I enjoy singlehood a little more right at this moment than a relationship.

i had to vote no then, because i want to experience it

Well said and decisive. Now that you have decided, get a friend (wingman), and just try to talk to a few girls. Don't fear rejection.

**EDIT**
Fear of rejection is your number one enemy in relationships. It will make you act funny.
It ties in with confidence and insecurity. A girl can smell confidence off of a guy (it is one of the masculine traits that most girls are attracted to). (Confidence, not asshattedness, although some girls get them confused). If you walk up to a girl and show you don't care what they think of you, that shows them you are confident. It is harder than saying, I know I have trouble sometimes talking to girls I am interested in. I get clumsy and goofy footed and I lose my train of thought some girls think it is cute. But as long as you can make it clear to the girl your intentions, your personality will be what wins her over. You seem like a nice guy online, although slightly insecure. Be proud of your accomplishments and go get a girl. :)

Definitely hold on to her then. I've got a cousin that can't even rent movies unless his wife lets him. He's definitely whipped. I've seen marriages like that and to me, that sucks.

Trust me, if you had what I had you'd be making a THREAD about it knowing you.

I will brag a bit because I've had steady relationships in the past, but nothing like this. I hit the jackpot, I got lucky dude. I'm trying to let the single guys here know there are good women out there for them, that's all.

Miracles do happen!

My marriage is good, but there are definitely times I wish I was still single. It kind of balances out though, and I have far more positives than negatives about marriage. It all depends who and why you marry. If you're doing it because all your friends are married, expect a divorce. If you're marrying to 'change the ther person, expect a divorce. If you marry because you can't stop thinking about them day and night and need them to survive, expect a divorce and a restraining order. But, if you can find someone to share your interests, share mutual respect, and can work around or overlook the shortcomings of that person, that marriage will never end and you'll be all the wiser and happier for it.

DaShen, you should reword your poll to reflect what you are saying. You appear to be asking, would you rather be single or in an unfulfilling relationship? That seems to be what you are asking based on your posts. You say you haven't found a person you'd want to be in a relationship long term with, well neither have I, but that doesn't mean I don't want to find such a person and get into a long term relationship. Based on relationships I've had, I'd rather have been single because the match was not right.

There may be some people who would rather be in an unfulfilling relationship than single, because they like the daily life and whatever else.

I am not single and have not been for a while, HOWEVER, i love being married.
The guy that i am with compliments me and I him. We are different but that makes it fun and interesting.

I don't mind being together most of the time. I was just thinking that a few days ago. It is the best feeling that i am living with a best friend. We enjoy spending time together and experiencing things with each other.

We have been together going on 6 years and i think we are still very much "into each other" :D

Well I hope it lasts buddy. I was in a similar relationship and it fizzled out quickly. You know the saying, "the brighest flame burns quickest." Sex is great and all, but if that's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of your relationship then it doesn't sound like your in for the right reasons.

I've been single for the majority of my dating life, a few brief flutters of the heart here and there, but nothing that ever stayed serious for long. I was fine with that. Just never found the right girl. But four months with my current girlfriend and I am very happy. We strike the right balance. We don't smother each other and realize we have lives of our own, but enjoy every moment together. I can't begin to describe it, but it just is there. Hard to believe that a girl I talked to for all of five to ten or so minutes at a New Years Eve party could become so much a part of my life.

You don't have to be married or involved with someone to be happy. It's nice to have sex on a regular basis and have a friend to share things with...but single people can have that too if they wish.

I am 22. I'm in a serious relationship that's very quickly heading down the toilet. But we've decided to hold on and keep trying anyway which is probably a REALLY bad idea.

I don't think I'm fit to be single. If I was allowed to go out to clubs and bars more (parents are too strict) I might enjoy being single. But at the same time I'm the type of person who enjoys sitting at home cuddling on the couch watching tv with my s.o and not doing anything else. So I guess I wouldn't like being single.

I think I have a pretty good deal at the moment. I have been in a serious relationship with my GF for over a year, but it's a long-distance relationship, so I see her about once a month. And when we do, it's intense...in a good way! Yet, I don't have to worry about the day-to-day hassles of having my GF live with me or next door to me.

And for those getting married who are younger than 25, heck younger than 30, good luck! But at 26, the last thing I want right now is marriage.

Whooooah, back the truck up Frank. You're 22 and your parents tell you that you can't go to bars/clubs? Tell them to fcuk off. I mean, as long as your curteous about coming in quietly and not disturbing them at late hours then they shouldn't be telling you at this point in your life what you can and can't do. You are basically your own woman at 18, very much so at 21.
