Unfortunately yes.

I got in a LOT of fights as a kid and then later as a Marine.

Thank god I haven't been in ONE fight since I got out of the service (circa 1975) 🙂
 
I am a pacifist. Angry, but a pacifist. When I realized this I quit martial arts after 10 years and haven't touched it since (that was... 1996?) Plus I live in the Arctic where I'm more likely to defend myself against a moose or bear than a human; and for that I carry a .44 Magnum when needed.
 
I would have to guess not. I've never been in an altercation and hopefully I never will. I'm scrawny, with no fast-twitch muscles and no body weight. An eight-year-old kid could probably throw me around. But who knows? I can take pain really well and might have good reflexes. But I'm probably not a good fighter.
