All legal. I have 6 Home and 2 Pro licenses from beta testing XP on so many different systems back in the day.

I can't respond to your poll. I have 1 legal copy of XP, so it only runs on 1 machine. The other machines use better OSes.

I suppose I should have also put in an acadmic copy. I know some people use an acadmic copy (not limited to Windows) of software even though they aren't a student. However, I am, so I'm in the clear :D

A better OS eh? Then why do you have a PC with Windows XP. In my opinion, you should only need one OS, unless of course you are running a server, then you would want to get an OS more suited for that. But for your regular use, if you have to use linux and windows, then linux is not a better OS. I'm not a Linux basher, I just think that Linux should give me no reason to use Windows. And it's better, but not there yet. Windows gives me no reason to use Linux. And that's all there is to it

Yes, as opinions go, this is one of my favorites.

I'm an OS whore.
I'm a geek.
I like to play games on occassion.
It has the best burning tools (or did before Nero Linux came out).

You're probably right. I just like technology. Most of my systems would be "servers" anyhow.

Linux sucks too, but it sucks less. I don't currently have any Linux machines, so that's a silly "argument" as to why I shouldn't enjoy using a lot of different technologies.

All my PC's that I use XP on, both Desktop and Laptop have a legal copy of XP. One desktop is XP Home, The other Pro and the Laptop Pro. 3 Separate Box's and CD's. On my other PC I use and OWN Windows 2k Pro.

On my Macs I own two copies of Panther and One Tiger.

Hmm, got legal XP Pro on both laptops. Got legal W2K Pro on my server.
I have WinXP Pro on my home machine, which is my company license. Got 2 extra WinXP Home licenses... I guess they allow me to use the 1 "extra" copy of XP Pro :p

1 Copy of XP Home
2 Copies of XP Pro (One no longer in use and about to be used to get XP-x64)
1 Copy of MCE2005 (replaced one of my copies of XP Pro on a machine)

All Legal.

I have two copies of xp that are legit, i got one for $50 from the hot deals forum and the other from school. There are ways of getting cheap xp without pirating....

Can you elaborate on some of those cheap ways to get xp that don't involve pirating or hacking it? I want to use my computer again...

Legal XP Pro, according to Microsoft. I had a list of product codes so I just kept trying them one at a time untill it activated. Got it in 5 tries. :)
