Yes, I have a strong disliking of Fords.
My first, and still (barely) running is a Ford. Lived in a family of Ford zealots. I was proud to get my Grand Marquis the day I got it.
~100,000 miles, alternator fails, replaced alternator.
~120,000 miles, transmission blows. Left myself and wife stranded on the median of an interstate. (Transmission rebuild + torque converter replaced)
~122,000 miles, front power windows stop working, must be forced up/down with hand.
~124,000 miles, back power locks begin to fail, not locking. Must be locked manually.
~125,000 miles, water pump fails, timing chain failed shortly after.
~130,000 miles, developed electrical short, killed battery every time the car was turned off. (Radio was found to be problem, and removed.)
~130,000 miles, alternator catches fire, replaced alternator again, and replaced some of the destroyed wiring.
Freaking Ford has cost me plenty of cash since I bought it. It still runs like a dog, transmission slips, pings like a mother on 87 octane gasoline, gets about 12mpg in town, 22mpg on highway with a wholloping 150hp. I've found some people interested in buying it for $1k or less, and frankly, I'll be glad to get rid of it.
