Winter rocks.

I mean...if it's too cold for you, you can put on a jacket. Or you can be like me and wear shorts in the snow.

But summertime you can't do jack. It's hot and that's it. There is no clothing that makes you cooler.

You have to put in all that crap and walk out, cold as fvck, could be icy/slippery so you can't walk at your normal pace since you have to be cautious, frostburns, clean the snow/ice off your car, did I mention its cold as fvck?

Not in the south, bro. ;)

No, Fall is the best season. Fall is cool, not really cold. And, unlike Spring, things are dying, not growing, and thus not pollenating. Another plus of Fall is that all the weenies come out and start commenting on just how cooooooold it is... except it's 65F, and for some reason that amuses me. Get yourself a good coat that you like to wear, and suck it up :p

This man speaks from my heart.

I despise the hot summers. As someone else said, if you're cold, you can always just put on another blanket or shirt. If you're too hot, you can't really do jack. I love the cold, i love it cold when im going to sleep. I leave the window open in the winter, I don't mind waking up because its 50F in the room so i can put on another blanket. But I hate waking in the middle of the night in the summer when its 85F and I'm all sweaty, never get back to sleep.

So; winter FTW.

I wish it snowed down here.

here in Ohio, we may have windows open for any length of time, at any random point in time during the summer, and then turn around and shut them for air for some time. But once late September hits, it's pretty much guaranteed they aren't gonna be open for much longer. I wish I new the meaning of open windows in Winter. But then I'd miss the snow.

But you can also have the snow. ;)
It's fun every now and then, and when we got a snow day because of real bad ice conditions (yes, most of the big schools here in the Ohio and Indiana region shut down for a day or two this winter due to wintry conditions, crazy eh?), it was real fun because we all became kids again and took lunch trays from the local campus joint and went sledding down hills and sliding around the ice of this little man-made pond on campus. Those were some of the best winter days we had this winter. Dragging our feet through all the snow to get to class and ending up with soaked pants for half the day tends to take away from that experience though. Those days I wore pajama pants underneath my jeans for added warmth and dryness. :) And sometimes even that wasn't enough.
and for the Alaskans, I know I can't complain about winter, but I have more to complain about than these southern folk.

Even though the snow part doesn't really apply where I live :p

(Or the part about summer being over yet...)

on a side note... what's with the seti.gif icon? never seen that before, hmm.

Since I live in a warm part of LA I'm looking forward to the fall. It means the end of the summer heat and return of perfect temps.

When I lived in Chicago the spring and summer were the best part of the year. The fall isn't bad and I didn't mind the winter up until December. I do miss the change of seasons in LA, but I sure as hell don't miss the realization in January that you have three more months of cold weather :)

I have a lot of computers in my room. At night (AC is off at night or the temp is set higher) while the rest of the house is cooling down, my room just keeps getting hotter and hotter. A lot of the times I'll end up sleeping in the basement on the couch, nice and cool down there.

Get one of these you panzie. I've got one (though it's much more of a deerskin color) and it's great, looks great, is always warm enough (even in 15 degree Oklahoma wind), and has held up well. I wouldn't say this is a downside, just worth mentioning, but it is a heavy jacket, about five pounds or so. I don't mind at all, but then again I'm no weenie either :p

Hell yeah.

Doesn't get crazy humid here though.

Even when I had to actually dig my car out last winter due to a blizzard, it wasn't that bad. I got two days of of work, paid. What's wrong with that?

Hmm... maybe a better jacket would make the difference this winter.

I love the season changes...all of them. I like fall season 'till the grass on the pastures stop growing. Then I have to start feeding hay to the horses, which costs $$. I like the winter 'till we get an ice storm. It does not happen very often but when it does, it fcking sucks. I like the spring. But some of the storms in Spring are sort of freaky....tornado freaky. Summer I like 'till it gets so fcking hot that you cant do anything outside or the grass on the pastures stop growing. Then I have to start feeding hay to the horses which costs $$.:)

I do like winter on my property, it's near where I lived for the first 12 years of my life (with a three year relocation to the shit that is Seattle, 6 to 9 years old).

I have to go to that hellhole to visit relatives, and it is bad, unless you live on the islands and you have some serious money.

I have a good heavy leather jacket which is probably similar to that one and I've worn it out in -20 and been okay. Course, you can't stay out for super long periods of time in those temps without other gear.

Oh the coat makes a world of difference, just make sure you can try the thing on before you get it, whichever one you get. My first one of these was a size too small (well, either that or I grew a size over a year). Either way, the lining got torn to shreds simply because my shoulders were a bit too wide, even though the coat appeared to fit just fine on the outside.

I love it HOT. I cannot stand winter, but fall is okay.. The only bad part of the fall is the allergy issues that come with it, for me.

Spring, Summer, Early fall are all good. Winter is depressing.

I love the fall, winter is something I could do without except it makes some great memories. If winter were shorter here in Ohio, then it would be awesome, but it tends to drag on and start early. Fall, however, is awesome and is beautiful in Ohio, especially here on campus. I don't mind jeans and a hoodie, as long as I can be warm if I put that on. That's really my favorite kind of clothing because it's really comfortable. Even with a lot of clothing it's still cold in Ohio some days in the winter, so that's why I'd want it to be real short, but still have one. Summer I do enjoy too, but my favorite time is nights in August or early September, when it starts getting a little cooler at night. Nothing beats a campfire on an early September night. :)

Or a late September night:

Current weather conditions for Lancaster, OH:

Currently: 44 F
Condition: Clear
Dewpoint: 41
Humidity: 89 %
Visibility: 9 mi
Wind: N/0 mph

That's AWESOME weather, for September 17th at 1 AM.

I personally love Fall & Winter. You can always put on more clothes, if necessary. Winter just brings more memories... better memories. I can think of only a handful of memories in Spring, Summer, or Fall that I care to re-live. But winter brings magic to life!

Then again, I grew up in the hills, and generally know how to drive without getting stuck or getting in an accident. I used to work in Columbus, and remember chuckling to myself one day, as I just got to work (without any difficulty) when I was alerted that Franklin County had just been placed until a Level 3 Weather Emergency (for those of you without a similar system, that means you don't go anywhere, for any reason, unless it's a life-or-death emergency).

And walking around Easton Town Center or the Columbus Zoo, when it's lightly snowing, and the Christmas lights are decorating everything... that's awesome.

God, I can't wait for winter to get here.
