Given the prices now, when it dies down, you might want to rethink that puny ammo supply. I'm not sure if Jesus saves, but buying in bulk when there isn't demand that outstrips supply sure would :biggrin:.

I've got my grandfather's old hunting rifle. I take it out, inspect it, and clean it, every few years. That's about it. You wouldn't know it from my recent Youtube history, though: rednecks and geeks with guns, CCW channels (it's interesting seeing how they think, what brought them to the decision, etc.), and Massad Ayoob galore, since the recent hysteria began 🙂.

They are so paranoid of the government coming to take their guns away but oh wait, where the fuck are they hearing this from because NO one is and NO one has EVER talked about doing this.

And they are paranoid about other shit like the boogyman and poor people, etc.

Love them, great for comical relief.

Not everyone is paranoid but there definitely are politicians who want to take guns away. Chicago was handgun free for how long?

err I'm pretty sure part of the NY gun bill that got yanked out last minute was for confiscation of assault weapons already out there.
 
I consider myself an enthusiast-in-training simply because I don't have much at the moment. If my finances were better, that would be different. I also like to shoot, it's practical knowledge I'd rather have and not need.

I lack the "nut" paranoia features, though I don't think eligible citizens should be disarmed to a lower point than the police. NY was already doing it wrong before the SAFE law, didn't get out of there a moment too soon.
 
Nope, I'm a gun enthusiast. I don't like the term "gun nut" as it typically corresponds to images of toothless rednecks in camo.
 
I would think that any American would understand that guns are part of our culture. Having a couple and hunting or doing some target practice doesn't make you a gun nut at all. A gun nut is something completely different. That dummy in JC Penny is a gun nut. Pretty sure he had all his teeth too and wasn't wearing camo.
 
I am almost never at home without a loaded weapon near by. but I call that security not being a nutcase. I dont CCW my glock 19 when I walk around.

I wouldnt call myself a nut, but I think banning of particular firearms is lunacy

A gun is a tool I use to protect myself and my family. I like tools and I especially like tools that work well at what they're designed to do.

I really like my cordless drill and use it far more often than my gun. Does that make me a cordless drill nut?

3. Statewide database for ALL Guns
4. Continue to allow pistol permit holder's information to be released to the public
5. Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as "assault weapons”
6. Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines
7. Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines
8. Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month
9. Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners
10. Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years
11. State issued pistol permits
12. Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State
13. Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers
14. Mandatory locking of guns at home
15. Fee for licensing, registering weapons
 
Yes. Guns are still expensive enough that if you own several, you should be considered a "nut". Sort of like how you own several computers and have many spare parts, you are a "computer guy" to the person who still owns a Dell from 2002

Assuming they banned assualt weapons I dont have a problem with 1,2 and 5. Number 4 "Continue to allow pistol permit holder's information to be released to the public" I dont think that should be public.

You're kidding right? Cities, counties, and even states have already passed ordinances that new federal gun laws will be unenforceable in their respective areas.

You don't think that individuals would fight compliance?

Theres a difference between legal resistance and piles of bodies in the streets. Thats what Im saying. He predicts the latter, I say no way. But then, the gun grabbers could not get that far along anyway. We must continue to make our voices heard, however.

The Bushmaster is safe, for now. 🙂
