Why is it that gays get more bs from republicans, religious, and other nut jobs yet those with DS get a pass?
And those same religious zealots believe that incredibly evil things like murder, rape, and being gay should be banned by the government, and people who willfully enage in such events are criminals and should be punished.
Well, they're wrong. All they're doing is further dividing the country and alienating those of us who really do have morals and values with this bullshit religious agenda.
I get tired of this, but here we go again.
It is not only the religious and the conservatives who discriminate against gays. Many on the left, especially Communist use false scientific reasoning to justify discrimination against homosexuals. This discrimination still goes on in atheist/communist China, socialist Latin America and in large parts of Russia. The Soviet Union for years killed homosexuals for being genetically inferior as did the Nazi's. (The Nazi's were secularist and based this discrimination on faulty science, not religion.)
Even in America today, there is a large number of people who consider themselves "liberal" who discriminate against gays. The Defense of Marriage act was overwhelmingly supported by people on the left. The White House in 1993 was ordered by President Clinton's staff to wear glove during a visit of Gay Activist. The right does not have a monopoly on discriminating against homosexuals.

Wearing gloves is one thing, hate speach and intolerance is completely different.
And how do you equate liberals and communists?![]()

Both are considered left leaning and many liberals in America are closet Communist.
Wearing gloves is intolerance. It is saying that gays are somehow dirtier than anyone else. It is also a form of hate speech in what it implies.

That is the most ridiculous thing I think I've ever read. Complete bullshit in fact.
I think in 1993 (if that's even true) we didn't have a 100% understanding of how HIV was transmitted and some of the staff were probably allowed to wear gloves just to be safe. I don't see this as a huge issue quite honestly.

No, it is not complete bullshit, but we are getting off topic here. The original point I made is valid that it is not only the religious and conservatives who have persecuted homosexuals. Just open your eyes for five minutes and quit taking it personal. The evidence is all around you that atheist and liberals are just as capable of discriminating against Homosexuals.
In 1993, we had a damn good understanding how HIV was transmitted. Anyone educated on the subject knew, even then, you could not get HIV from casual contact. People also knew then that the majority of gay people did not have HIV. So quit trying to defend a horrible instance of discrimination based on fear and ignorance.

I have a serious question for you, what difference would it make either way? Say you can prove that you are gay from birth or say I can prove that people become gay by how they're brought up. What difference does it make?
You still have these people in our society who prefer the company of their own sex. You either choose to accept them and give them the respect they deserve as decent human beings or you choose to hate them for it. Personally, I choose the former.

I seem to recall that that particular instance was blown way out of proportion by the media...I may be wrong on that though, I'm just going on memory.

It was blown out of proportion and it is not the best example, but it was a what came to mind. There certainly is such a thing as a centrist, since that is what most Americans actually are.
I'm just get sick of the hatred some people spew towards all religious and conservative people by lumping them all in a single box. I know plenty of both religious and conservative people that are for gay rights and equal protection under the law. I also know some so called good liberals that hate homosexuals. The issue of discrimination against gays is a lot more complex than some here believe it to be.

Lulz, I don't even care about proving you wrong on the main subject, because this completely overshadows it. You're a jerk, and nothing you say is going to hold any weight now. THAT'S what I'm saying, in other words.
