Catholics don't take the Bible seriously, especially not the old testament. Why? Because it wasn't written by God. Anyone who says otherwise is just falling for lies. I mean come on.. think about what the Bible is.Originally posted by: glen
I grew up in a church and no one there takes the Bible literally, certainly not the Old Testament.
I am surprise so many seem to.
It's not a magical book. It's a collection of writings that was assembled by medieval clerics. Even the teacher of my pre confirmation class, back in the day, said that the Bible doesn't have to be taken literally. And the pope himself said that evolution is okay to believe in.
Zealots need to remember one thing.. Christianity is not based on fact. Yet you treat your BELIEFS as fact, spouting it off in arguments. How can you even pretend to argue with opinions and beliefs? Everyone possesses the mental capacity to determine truths on his own, yet some people just believe what they hear. How do you know that the preacher hasn't been lying to you your whole life and that God is going to send you to hell for believing him?
