Wait around your house. A nice fellow in a suit , or perhaps a nice lady in a nice dress, or perhaps both, maybe even with a kid, will ring you doorbell. They will provide you with a swell little comic book called "The Watchtower" (I don't think Jimi Hendrix or Bob Dylan are in it btw).
They will answer all of your questions and explain it to you. Listen well, for they are the chosen, and you may be one as well.

They aren't necessarily chosen. There's only 144,000 of them (and they've already all been picked). The rest of their devout followers just get to go to "the New System."

I know, I've asked them before about that. I don't know how many of them there are, but it by far exceeds 144,000. Some of them (most of them) are not pure of heart.

No, there's only 144,000 of the people that get to like move on to a higher existence or some such, and the rest stay for the "New System" without all us people who aren't "in the Truth."

oh... well in that case... fVck em!

The bright side for the JWs is that they don't believe in hell. If you're not righteous or pure hearted or whatever and you die, you just rot in a box, not roast in eternal damnation.

I don't want to get flamed either, but I ask this question in all seriousness without the intent of sounding preachy, but only to hopefully provoke some thought.

Ok, how about this question...what if you're wrong?

Sure, you have free will and can choose to believe what you want. You can have faith in God (Christianity), faith in man (Humanism), one of the many other "gods" out there (too many to list), or believe there's simply no god at all (atheism). So you choose to believe in one of the other gods or no god and end up being wrong...and there is only one true God, well, then you have to come face to face with him and be judged. If a Christian is wrong? Then what's the result then? Simply become "one with the universe," or just become dust and that's it, achieve total enlightenment, cross over to another dimension, meet the aliens....what? What's the worse thing that could happen if a Christian is wrong? And what's the worse thing that can happen if Christianity is right and you aren't?

I'm just curious what ATOTers have to say, hopefully, at least some are serious here...

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Your post seems to be skewed. Christianity should be lumped in with your third category (one of the many other "gods" out there). I imagine the worst thing that could happen is that in some other religion (if it were the "one truth path" or whatever), christians would be tortured eternally for worshipping the wrong god.

Answer: No one knows.

Why is this relevant. There has to be a higher being in place. How can space or anything never end? There is a greater intelligence at play here.

it's just too hard to resist laughing at your attempt of proving that there's a "greater intelligence" at play.

there are theories that explains why space "never ends". one would be that the universe is a sphere and its size being finite, meaning you keep going and going because you're just going in a circle. i.e. you walk and walk on earth and it will never end because you're just walking around earth. (unless you think the world is flat)

nevertheless, that theory can't be proven today since we lack the technology and equipment to actually conduct this experiment

144,000 is kinda "silly" for a literal number when the ENTIRE book of Revelation is told in "symbols and signs".

How is it that "Christians" accept the ancient Jewish view of the world, anyway?

Beats me, the Witnesses have always seemed a bit cultish to me.

Because all Christianity is is revised Judaism. It was not meant to be its own religion.

You roast for worshiping your false prophet Jesus. I thought the Bible was pretty clear on that.

You should check out the book "Conversations with God"

I had lots of doubts/questions about the definitions of god, this book really made a lot of sense for me.

We don't. Christians and Jews disagree on who Jesus was. That's why we have a different world view.

Sure you do . . . you have the first 2/3rd of the Bible "in common". You must accept the story of Adam and Eve, the Flood, that Jehovah - tribal god of the Jews - is your God also . . . . the Creator

the ONLY major disagreement is that Jesus is the Messiah (and part of the Godhead IF you believe the trinity; or Jehovah's Son if you believe he is "one")

The Jewish "World View" and the Christian "World view" are the same. The Christians expanded to include "everyone" in Salvation whereas in Judaism you have to be a Jew (more-or-less),

Ok. All of what you said is true, except the last part. In my opinion, the fact that everyone can be saved by Jesus is an entirely different "world view" from the Jewish perspective as still God's only chosen people.

Also, doesn't the Trinity account for a fundamentally different God than the Jews follow today? Doesn't this mean there is a fundamental and foundational difference between the two? I don't believe Christians and Jews follow the same God since He is fundamentally different in both religions.

How can it be the same God if the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three persons in one God? If the Jews only accept the Father, then it's not the same God.

Yes it is the same God but with the new testament came contradictions that needed to be explained.

From a Christian view it is the same God with cooler features.

Well, according to the OT . . . it was "by means of Abraham's Seed" that ALL nations would be blessed. According to christians, Abraham's [primary] Seed IS Jesus [the Messiah].

Jesus was a Jew. He believed in Yahweh/Jehovah and prayed to him while on earth accodring to the bible.

But how can it be the same God if...

Jews believe in just the Father
Christians believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three persons in one God

I don't see how that quite works out.
