i believe, i just have questions about christianity and the bible. my own personal opinion is that god can be approached in any number of ways and it a relationship with god is really very personal. don't turn your back on believing just because you haven't yet found a religion that speaks to you. i think the biggest thing to keep in mind is that god is all about love - any religion that tells you otherwise is definitely not where you want to be.

good luck!

A higher "being"? Maybe. I don't really think about it because it's just a waste of time.

No.
In case one really exists, it's not a matter of belief, anyway.
What someone "wants to believe" can not alter reality.

I?m not up for flaming and offended people and their beliefs, but when I pick up a bible and try and read its?.Doesn?t convince me.

I want to believe there is a god, I want to believe that we?re all born good and are looked down upon by a higher being for who we really are.

Anyone else confused like me ?
no . . . not confused

Why pick up a Bible at all? There are MANY "holy books"

Who is to say the ancient Jew's view of the world is any more correct than (e.g.) the ancient Egyptians?

feasibility is not very rational.
Since we don't know everything, and reason alone can't bring us to a full knowledge, there has to be a stretch made somewhere.

Get in a space ship with unlimited fuel. Keep going.....and going.....and going......

What happens?

Answer: No one knows.

Why is this relevant. There has to be a higher being in place. How can space or anything never end? There is a greater intelligence at play here.
That doesn't require a higher being.

here's the deal - look me up at about 4:25. if you're still soul-searching then, i'll be your 'higher' being. :p

and what makes the ancient Jew's "Bible" any more accurate about 'god/s' than the OTHER "holy books"?
Maybe the ancient Egyptians were right about Ra and the 1,000s of other gods. :p

What IS the DIFFERENCE?

(why wait for 4:20? you get off work then?)

Wait around your house. A nice fellow in a suit , or perhaps a nice lady in a nice dress, or perhaps both, maybe even with a kid, will ring you doorbell. They will provide you with a swell little comic book called "The Watchtower" (I don't think Jimi Hendrix or Bob Dylan are in it btw).
They will answer all of your questions and explain it to you. Listen well, for they are the chosen, and you may be one as well.

They aren't necessarily chosen. There's only 144,000 of them (and they've already all been picked). The rest of their devout followers just get to go to "the New System."

I know, I've asked them before about that. I don't know how many of them there are, but it by far exceeds 144,000. Some of them (most of them) are not pure of heart.

No, there's only 144,000 of the people that get to like move on to a higher existence or some such, and the rest stay for the "New System" without all us people who aren't "in the Truth."
