Do some public toilets in India not have toilet paper?

I didn't read through this entire thread, but...
Using toilet paper + washing my hands = most sanitary of all, imo.

Also, are we talking about cleanliness from the ass's point of view or the hand's?...because it's different.

i don't think using your hand is more sanitary. it's on the contrary.

it most certainly is not more sanitary, unless you choose to be disgusting and not wash your hands afterwards.

i personally do not have anything against toilet paper. in face, like i said before i do use toilet paper and the reason why i do this is because i have done so my entire life. i am not arguing for the fact that it is more sanitary (because it is not) or that it is easier (because it really isn't THAT much easier). i'm only fighting the ignorance i've read in this thread. if you make the decision to use toilet paper, simply state you do so because touching sh1t makes you feel gross. nothing less, nothing more.

it doesn't matter.

assuming you wash your hands in both cases, you are more clean using your hands to wipe your ass.

man. obviously your hand isn't sanitary the moment after you clean your ass, but if you wash your hands afterwards, then they are just as clean.

the additional point is that your ass is cleaner after using water and your hand (which i shouldn't need to explain why).

on a side note, there are a number of ppl who are really gross and don't wash their hands after taking a crap. if everyone was to use his/her hands to clean him/herself after taking a crap, how many ppl do you think would leave the bathroom without washing his/her hands first? as a whole, we would be more sanitary if we used water and our hands instead of toilet paper.......

there's no way i'm going to use a washcloth, then toss that washcloth into the laundry basket until wife can get to it a few days later with feces still embeded in the fiber.

So you both think it's disgusting to use cloth again even after it's been washed but you don't find it disgusting to re-use your hand every day with many activities? Great logic!

assuming you wash your hands in both cases, you are more clean using your hands to wipe your ass.

Granted, if you wash and scrub your hands for a couple minutes with antibacterial soap and whatnot after you've had feces smeared all over them and under your fingernails...then the hands would probably be equally clean. But how many kids (or adults for that matter) wash their hands like this?

We've already gone over this, why rehash the same points? Any TP user who has experienced the dreaded "poke-through" knows that no amount of soap, hot water and scrubbing will get rid of that smell - it takes a day, give or take. In essence, a "poke-through" victim has tried both methods, and we all think TP is the better one.

And on the washcloth debate, I save my rear for last and launder my washcloths after each use. Since I'm a clean person in general, including when using TP after a BM, my washcloths bring no odor problems to the laundry basket nor do they have visible waste on them.

I was thinking about this thread on the train... I have two questions.

1. after you wash your anus with your hand and water, it's still dripping wet. How do you dry it without toilet paper? I'm assuming you guys don't just pull up your pants at this point and walk out of the toilet with wet undies.

2. you say you wash with a cup of water... how do you "pour" the water onto "the target surface"? cuz when you crouch, gravity obviously works against you and your water supply. I'm trying to visualize how the water will flow. If you try to level the surface by pointing your ass up high in the air, won't the semi-dissolved brown gunk drip down all over your balls, thighs, and clothes?

If you scrub hard enough, water will leave your ass cleaner than toilet paper. However, considering that most ppl take a shower once a day and only take a dump at most twice a day (anyone do it more times per day....???), I think the added convenience of toilet paper is desirable. Your ass is rarely exposed to the public, but your hand is.
