Do smokers not realize how bad they smell?

Another thing I have noticed besides the stink: smokers are generally not as intelligent as non smokers.

I used to think that smoking kills brain cells but I now believe that they just weren't intelligent in the first place. I mean why else would they engage in a habit that is disgusting and will end in an early death?

My first wife smoked. When we met, she wanted to go out but I wouldn't date a smoker. She quit, we went out, got married and divorced.
After the divorce she started smoking again. She asked me why I was so dead set against it. I told her I didn't want to spend my life with someone with so little regard for themselves that they would do that to themselves. I also explained that I didn't want to wipe her ass when she was dying from cancer.
She thought about it for a second and asked me why I had never explained it like that before? I thought I had.

She died two years ago at age 54 from lung cancer.

Right? The best part is when you bring it to their attention, I have put the chunky shit in a zip lock to show them in the past, they just kinda look at you and shrug their shoulders or have this dumbfounded look on their face. Really?

And the kicker is...its not her laptop...so why the hell would you be smoking and eating while using it? We have had to retire some laptops because they were so abused.

We had to remove the keyboard from the laptop to clean the sticky stuff off the keys...who knows what it was..probably BBQ sauce or melted globs of her lungs. Who knows.

I don't know about that one. If you analyzed a non-smoker's day vs. a smoker's day I'd bet that the smoker is less considerate. The issue is that they just don't care whether their habit affects someone around them. So smoker vs. non-smoker spend the exact same day doing the exact same thing except the smoker tosses a single cigarette butt on the ground once in the day. That makes the smoker less considerate.

Same situation, same day, same everything, the smoker is smoking in their car and the person in the car behind them can smell it's awful nasty odor and contributes to their possibility of getting cancer.

Unless the smoker is in a sealed glass container, 99.9% of the time they are going to be less considerate to those around them.

This coming from a former smoker.

PS, smoking still doesn't alleviate stress no matter how much your brain lies to you and says it does.

Already explained it but I will again for people who keep overlooking.

The people who smell the worst live in it. They smoke all day every day, in bed - on the toilet, everywhere. You would be surprised how many idiots there are that smoke 1-2-3 packs a day and just live in that filth. Drive with their windows UP while chain smoking to work. All of that.

Yes I know, the problem is, smoking in car is the worst thing you can do both for car and both for yourself, the materials in the cars will just so damn stink endlessly if you smoke in the car.

Oh, I'm not saying that non smokers are cut from different cloth or anything. That they're less likely to say please or hold the door or something. They just don't care how their habit negatively impacts other people. They flick butts all over the place. They are on smoke breaks while other are working. etc, etc. Just the nature of addiction. They'll do whatever it takes to get their fix.

You're wrong, I'm not an addict. I smoke because I enjoy it and I can quit at any time.

Although most smokers are addicts, there are levels. Its not just like black and white like so many people think it is.

Equivalent to alcohol - its not like you either don't drink or you're an alcoholic. I know several people like me who only smoking sometimes, namely when we're all drinking and partying. In fact, the majority of my friends enjoy a smoke now and again, after a joint, bowl, couple shots of alcohol, etc.

I always feel bad for the children of smokers. I live next door to people that smoke. They don't even smoke inside their house but when their kids come into our house I can always smell it on them. It's one thing to not give a damn if people say you smell bad, but its another when your kids have that smell too and there is nothing they can do about it.
