Didn't realize until I quit.
First time I really noticed was at a hockey game, these guys came back to their seats after intermission and reeked....I apologized to wife and son for the years they put up with that stench.
My parents still smoke and even if I am in there for 5 minutes, I have to change when I get home....sorry, but yeah it stinks

That's good for you, unfortunately the overwhelming majority of people I've heard say that line are just lying to themselves.

I suppose, but most people I know who are addicted to ciggs know that they are addicted, and most even try to quit or quit if that is what they want. This day and age it is easy to quit if that is what you want, IMO

I love the smell of the smoke wafting in the air. I hate how it clings to things and "stales" out.

I'm pretty cognizant of my smelling of smoke. It is unavoidable so at some point, you stop caring.

That said, if I am to be in an area with a lot of non-smokers that is inclosed (i.e. my office) then I will only smoke at lunch and use some cologne to cover it up. But yeah, it smells, we know. It's a drug, were addicted. Sorry. :colbert:

Hah, I wondered that too the other day. Some smokers REEK after they are done and it's sickening to even be around them.
Don't change their clothes enough I assume is one problem.

Smoking was far more prevalent in society even 20 years ago. I smell it so infrequently now--the smokers have been rightfully relegated to areas of shame, aka smoking areas, so I rarely have to watch them self-mutilate--that when I do it's even more hideous than back in the day. The whole habit is laughably absurd.

You're wrong, I'm not an addict. I smoke because I enjoy it and I can quit at any time.

Although most smokers are addicts, there are levels. Its not just like black and white like so many people think it is.

Equivalent to alcohol - its not like you either don't drink or you're an alcoholic. I know several people like me who only smoking sometimes, namely when we're all drinking and partying. In fact, the majority of my friends enjoy a smoke now and again, after a joint, bowl, couple shots of alcohol, etc.
I assume you're youngish. Your behavior now can turn into a bona fide smoking habit. Enjoy your lung cancer, I hear it's a blast. The favorite part of most patients has to be gasping for air as stage IV racks their lungs and their kids look on crying.

Can't really cover it up unless you change your clothes. Besides when you smoke your sense of smell AND especially taste are almost none existent.

Guess how I know? I smoked for many years. When I quit 13 years ago, I was lucky enough to get my smell/taste back within few short months. It was kind of like discovering food again.

Just stay away from them, nothing else you can do.
It's surprising the French are such heavy smokers when they cherish their cuisine so highly.

I think we should be thanking smokers not chastising them. The taxes they pay support so many public projects.
IMO they can smell as stinky as they want as long as those tax dollars keep flowing.

I notice it big time on my hands, but not as much as a smug attitude from some douchebag which is much more common than smoking. Even here in Ohio, douchebaggery is on the rise while smoking continues to decline. How can we stop this horrible habit of thinking you are cock of the walk from declining one simple vice? Oh that's right, here in reality, most of the anti-smoking crew I have met are either fat, sedentary, or entitled fuckwads. I think it is karma for pushing their ideals on others. Kind of like religious zealots, but more comical because their anti-choice agenda is rooted in a much younger tradition.

Enjoy your lung cancer, I hear it's a blast...

In all fairness, not all smokers get lung cancer. Some get a stroke like my mother did, ending up with half of their brain destroyed and half their body paralyzed. She's been "living" like that for almost ten years now. That's what a couple of decades of elevating your blood pressure will do. :'(

I only smoke when I know I'm going to be around people that bitch about people that smoke. Those types tend to bitch about all kinds of silly crap. Get off of my lawn! :D They do stink though and so do most people in general.
