First anal probes (well, honestly, that's enough right there), and now this:

das linky

Mom gets pulled over in minivan, doesn't want to pay ticket, drives off when officer goes back to car. Gets pulled over again, one son thinks about taking on the cop, changes his mind. Eventually a melee erupts, backup arrives, windows get smashed in, when she drives off with 5 kids in the car one of the backup officers OPENS FIRE. She weaves her way through a high speed chase and eventually gives it up after a while.

Holy stupidity all around Batman...it was a $126 ticket that she didn't want to deal with, overreaction on her part and complete overreaction on the cops part.

Ya, fail all around on this one. I hope the 14 year old gets his charges dropped as he seemed to just be defending his mother, but wtf was his mother thinking when she drove away?

As for the cop, he shoulda just given her the ticket and a "WTF did you drive away for?", maybe another ticket for something to do with that(if one was available). Trying to drag her out of the van was just stupid, clearly he was too emotionally involved to be thinking clearly at that point.

Watching the video, I have no sympathy for the woman in this situation. They were acting too erratically, chances are great there is another side to the story - the reason why the woman did not want to stick around for the cop to check out the situation further (and I guarantee it was for something other than the "potential police brutality").

Insane aggression, complete lack of professionalism.

They don't know how to handle an unruly driver?

The stupid breed a lot. 5 kids, and drives off over a speeding ticket. This is a special kind of stupid, and she is unfit as a role model to raise children.

Mom was a moron, driving away is NOT going to result in anything good, just take your ticket and move on. She probably deserves whatever crap they throw at her. Kid should probably get charges dropped, maybe a probation where the charges come off his juvenile record at most.

First cop continued to escalate the situation instead of trying to keep it a simple traffic stop. I think he overreacted and should probably take some unpaid time off and maybe some classes on zen or yoga or some calming shit, yo.

Second cop should be tossed in jail, forbidden from owning a gun, and never allowed to police again. Show up and just open fire like that? GTFO

So much fail it's unreal. Mother is absolutely a complete fuck up, so is the son, and both should face charges. The cops that smashed the window, and even shot at the van? Same thing. Are they fucking nuts?

Remember kids, fleeing from the police in America will result in summary execution. Comply or die.

Why anyone would want to venture into the epic cesspool that lies south of the Rio is beyond me.

I came in here expecting something about the endless "construction" zones along I-10 looking to wrack up maximum $$$ from people wanting to escape that shithole as quickly as possible. The woman in the op goofed pretty badly.

I have no problem with the mother and son getting charged. But fireing on the van? when there was kids inside? fuck no. he should be fired.

If you mean that he should be imprisoned for improperly discharging his firearm, endangering the public, and assaulting children, then I agree with you.

But remember everyone, cops are all "heroes."

Pathetic, same excuse when retards defend soldiers who massacre civilians.

Looks like the officer was trying to shoot a tire, no rounds struck the vehicle.

I could have sworn that's what many wanted the officers to do with the kid that stole his father's truck.

I'm right with you. I don't call cops heroes, but I do call soldiers brave. Comparing the jobs of cops to soldiers is a pretty stupid thing to do, but I see your weak point.

Looked like he was aiming low. Even if it wasn't the most advisable move, that doesn't excuse what that family was doing. This is just more proof that refusing to pull over or do as an officer instructs you to do never, and I mean never ends well for you. You took your driving tests. You know to pull over when you see the flashing lights. If the cop is wrong you will have your day in court. Don't make the cop be judge jury and executioner on the side of the road because of your stupidity.

The cop who fired on the vehicle fleeing should be taken off the force forever. Seen too many movies. I guess if he was aiming low it might be different but it's so hard to shoot at tires it's probably not worth the effort.

The other cops were fine. The 14 year old future felon should be glad that the cop had a tazer and not his pistol out when he assaulted the cop.

What a wonderful lesson for the kids to learn. Now they will be wondering if everything else mom said was wrong. The gunfire was a tad much, actually it was pretty stupid. Any of the cruisers would have been able to catch up to and PIT that minivan in less than 2 miles.

Heh. Sorry, but could you imagine the public outcry from that? Firing the gun I understand. That second cop was called in with probably limited information. He probably came in hearing that the first cop was assaulted by the driver and her juvenile son. Nothing was probably said about the three young kids in the back. I'd imagine a pit maneuver requires approvals up the chain. I doubt very much they'd allow it knowing there were young kids in the back of a mini van.

I'm editing this before I have someone come in here and say "You actually think its a good idea to fire away with limited information?" No, I don't. I just understand why the cop in that situation could make a poor judgment call based off what he may have heard responding to the call.

Just imagine had the officers performed a PIT maneuver on the van in it flipped and severely injured/killed one of the young children inside. Shooting at the tires (?) is quite dangerous but a PIT maneuver could be just as dangerous.

Just imagine had the lady driven through a red light and into a bus full of kids on their way to a church gathering killing all 35 kids inside and wounding the 6 kids in her van. Was there things wrong here, yep. But if you want to play the "what if" game there are a 1000 outcomes. I would much rather the person responsible for starting the issue get fucked up that an innocent bystander. There is no way to know if the kids in the van were kidnapped, stolen, sold, runaways or what ever. They could have been mules carrying drugs, guns or explosives. There had to be a reason for her to leave while the cop was giving her a ticket, or should it be OK to just leave if you don't feel there was a reason to be stopped?

Had she been just left alone after pulling away the first time and had had a load of explosives she used to blow up a bank because her home was foreclosed on, everyone would be blaming the cop for not chasing her.

The cops in the video look like they could use a bit more training though.
