Lets see congress form a white caucus. I bet their would be outrage in the news.

You get why underrepresented and underpowered minorities grouping together for more effective representation is viewed differently than a similar decision by the dominant majority group that has a history of race based supremacy, right?

Because minorities are a liberal interest group and whites are not.

All I see is people making race an issue.

If we ever hope to get past racial issues, we need to get past it and stop talking about it.

My ex-wife(while we were married) used to bring up stuff that happened over a decade ago. I would get pissed off that she would bring up something that happened so long ago and that was no longer relevant.

Society needs to move past racial topics.

Yeah, there aren't any right wing interest groups represented in Congress at all.

I'm glad to see you are continuing your pursuit of perpetual victimhood though. Why won't someone think of the poor, underprivileged white males?!

'If we ever hope to get past racial issues we need to start ignoring them.'

I'm going to take a wild stab and say that you're white.

The only way we will ever get past racial issues, is to stop rubbing salt in the wound.

And yes, I am European-American.

I am sorry I didnt realize that all white males were rich and drove around in Bentley's with 2 or 3 colored concubines 😵

It's pretty easy for the person getting the best end of the deal

Best end of the deal? How do you figure that?

The difference in people, is how much time and effort they are willing to put into improving their lives.

I used to work 12 hours a day for 4 - 6 weeks, 2 days off, repeat for 3 or 4 months at a time in order to learn a trade. Anyone of any race could put forth the same effort to learn the same skills / trade as I did.

To say that any race or sex is keeping other people down, is nothing more then blame placement.

Its easier to point a finger and say "they are keeping me from reaching my goals", then to go to college or put forth serious effort.

If you're trying to argue that white people don't have inherent cultural and social advantages over... say... black people I don't know what to tell you. The evidence is pretty overwhelming.

I'm very happy that you were able to do well for yourself in life. That in no way alters institutional factors present in our society. You want to ignore them because you probably don't see them.

It is sad that you feel the need to censor others in order to make yourself feel better. Cencorship FTL!

I stole this from a song: "Where you end (in life) usually depends upon where you start". For the most parts, whites start further up the economic ladder, so they usually end further up the economic ladder.

I would have no problem with the black congressional caucus if they allowed white who represent heavily black populated districts into their little club. But the black means only those congressmen with black skin can join and has nothing to do with those they represent.

Sorry, not following you.

And at least in this country, there are no laws that force people to admit to a private function those they do not want present.

This.. I mean, forcing private groups to allow anybody in dissolves the idea that it's a private group.

I personally think descrimination is ok. I say this knowing that I'd be giving people the right to descriminate against me too. I just don't think people should be forced to associate with people if they don't want to. Whether it's business, personal, etc. If you don't like that a business serves only men, or whites, or blacks, DONT GO THERE.

At one time it was needed...back before civil rights for blacks...especially right after slavery ended. Blacks owned no stores, etc, and white had to be forced to serve them.

Funny that the inherent cultural and social advantages of white people doesnt seem to be keeping asians down

Any kind of discrimination is wrong, I do not care if its racial, religious or sexual discrimination, it is wrong.

Why do you set yourself up to be knocked down?

You do know that outside of mathematics there are few absolutes and labeling all discrimination as wrong is absurdly flawed, right?

Just reconsider how you frame your argument next time. Please.
