Reminds me of TridenT who bitches about things; has a solution handed to him, and then ignores the living fuck of it only to complain more...

Surely i'm misinterpreting this...

I told a manager that he was pretty much worthless when he was checking someone out at the Albertsons and wouldn't give a guy 33c off of some crackers that the customer insisted failed to be labeled "buy 2 get 33c off each".

Taking convenience store margins and not willing to let the old dude have 33c off some crackers... I told him and then I said "that was just stupid, think of the mangers you would have gotten over his life time if he was loyal... that may only be another five years, but still!"

.. people in line laughed, but the manager didn't.

Someone making unrealistic demands or an employee not honoring prices as marked are totally different things.

Also the beauty of this was I didn't want money back, I wasn't expecting to be able to exchange the shirt either. I was hoping they'd let me.

What I didn't expect was to be referred to as a liar and that I must have done the damage.

That is where the customer is always right comes in (outside of everyone's insane scenarios). You can easily explain that you agree and still be unable to meet their requests.

I would have accepted the Manager's reply, asked her to dispose of the shirt and replaced it myself along with making some other purchases that evening.

You guys are always good for a laugh. It's like in college where 20 people thought I was wrong and yet I got the highest grades and accolades.

Trying too hard to troll every thread of mine and instead basically prove my point.

LOL no. the costumer is NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. Ask any business owner that and nearly all will agree.

Should a business try to keep costumers? sure. But there is a point when you have to tell them to fuck off. Yes stores USED to live by the motto but not anymore. Even huge stores like Costco have changed rules because assholes abuse it.

as a ex business owner no way in hell is the costumer always right. Though you should do your damnedest to keep them..honesty and integrity (wich the manager at dillards seem to be lacking) will keep more costumers then kissing ass.

sure you need them. But a business also does not need to lose money on some either. i have seen/heard some make some insane demands and say that line "the costumer is always right!" all the while demanding the store take back used, old or not the stores merchandise.

as i said above integrity, honesty and good customer service will take you farther.

edit: anyway off to gymnastics! (not me hell no. i would break something) marking this so i can read it latter!
i think "the customer is always right" means within reason. if someone tries to return merch from another store that is fraudulent. That is not what I meant, but in alkey's case it should apply.

So the answer would have been "no" either way, but you don't like how you were told "no"? Why are "feelings" relevant to this?

Like I said, you are trolling.

Being called a liar is a lot different than trolling. It could even be a base for slander at that point with her stating in front of the cashier that I must have washed it and put the hole in it.

However, feelings do matter as well in any transaction. No one is going to shop at a place that treats them poorly even if they still get their widget. Except perhaps you and trolldom.

Fair enough; but you where still offered a means to obtain satisfaction (getting her reprimanded/fired), a public service really... but instead you deny said help and continue to be upset.

And I thought I had a chip on my shoulder! Good God man; it's not impressive to be in the top 5% of a bunch of stupid shits. You got nothn' to prove to anyone but yourself.

So in this thread we got your credit card/cash flow info, how much you drop on clothing, how awesome your car is, and now how smart you are! Can we some more bragging? I think penis size hasn't been mentioned yet.

Here is the issue, I was NOT looking for help nor advice. This was a rant about a store and my intention for my solution. That's about 90% the trouble with forums, someone posts about looking for a black car and everyone posts up other ones. Someone wants an AMD processor and half the crowd recommends Intel...it's not helping, it's not listening to what's needed.

It's no different than this manager.

Is secretly a pregnant woman?

This makes no sense. Shopping is emotional to a great degree and why retail shopping always will exist. People like the interaction/service, touching the item and knowing they picked out what they get.

If a place had the best deals in town, but you constantly had to wait 15-20 mins while the clerks handled personal calls only to then be belittled for causing them to get off the phone, it would go under. Same thing here. I didn't expect a "yes", I didn't expect to have an elaborate story painted about how I damaged the garment, then decided to wash it and then decided I wanted to go back to the same store to get the exact same shirt again. It makes no sense.

And I thought I had a chip on my shoulder! Good God man; it's not impressive to be in the top 5% of a bunch of stupid shits. You got nothn' to prove to anyone but yourself.

LOL, like guys with hot g/fs are all douches, now all those with good educations and well paying jobs are stupid shits.

OP should just change his username to PABAlkyDent.

More BS than PAB, Same old Alky BS, Whines & defends self like Trident.

I was asked to qualify things, when I do the same idiots say I am bragging.

As far as penis size, I am sure you can ask around.

Oh you are back now. I posted the info you wanted, then you disappeared being defeated. Where was it BS, are you simply in capable of understanding basic concepts?

Also I am replying to requests, what you posted was whining.

Shopping? emotional? Like eating? Yep, you are an average consumer: you feel entitled, and need a complete stranger to make you "feel good" so you will part with your money.
Op would piss into the wind, and wonder why his face was wet...

Still trolling I see.

I don't really get emotional about food though.

A consumer should feel entitled. They are there to be served and pick out something they are usually buying out of want/desire than need.

I don't need anyone to make me feel good, however; if you are ok with a store associate calling you a liar then I guess the pussification of america is true.

You are a teenager I am betting now.

I don't need to interact with the associate until I am ready to pay. I rarely have problems. Then again, I don't expect anyone but ME to make ME happy. Store associate would not have called me a lair, your approach was wrong. In the store associate's eyes, you are a liar...why should he/she believe you?

I asked for no info, (nor did anyone receive any).
I disappeared to get back to work.

Oh, and I, as an adult, am not at all threatened by Internet Tough guys.:whiste:

Yeah trolling, the whole looking to be made happy thing is some fucked up tangent you are on. No one is going shopping to leave unhappy...your point is moot.

How was my approach wrong? You simply know nothing.

I approached the original sales associate with my reciept less than a week old and the shirt. I explained I know they have no exchanges, but this seems to be a fluke. I explained it appeared I was sold a shirt that was not just wrinkled, but used as well and was damaged. I explained how the damage had a random sticker just placed over it. I am not sure if it was a marker for damage or not, however; it concealed the small hole in the shirt. I asked him if it was possible to simply get the same shirt again and that I would be buying other items that night.

They were happy to help and told me it should be no problem, but the manager would have to decide.

The manager was called. She took her sweet time of course getting to me...pausing along the way.

I greeted her as she approached. No response. When she got to me I said Hi again, no response but, what do you need?

I walked through the same original story, when I handed her my receipt she just looked at it shaking her head and tossed it back at me on the counter. She then looked at the shirt shaking her head more and replied "You washed this shirt and damaged it", "We would NEVER sell something like this here", etc.

That was the issue. A simple "I am sorry, we cannot take any items back." was all that would have been needed. I didn't wash the shirt nor put the hole in it, however; she insisted that I was made responsible for those issues.

This is where you and the others are trying far too hard to turn this into anything, but piss poor customer service that NO ONE would accept especially someone that just spent a significantly much higher than average amount at a store. She not only didn't help, but insulted me, claimed me to be a liar and a potential crook.

So since you are ok with that, you have to be trolling as a person that passive wouldn't keep bringing this bullshit up that I was feeling too 'entitled' and looking for some 'mad props' from a store clerk.

First, I was never threatening you...your retaliation statement is a threat though. May as well have said "COME AT ME BRO! I WILL GET IN DA CHOPPER AND PEW PEW PEW YOU!!!!!"

You claimed I was lying, shopping really at wal mart and it was over a $5 shirt I had for an extended time.

I am not suggesting that anyone should leave unhappy. I am far from passive. You weren't "sold" a ruined shirt, you "picked" a ruined shirt. You set yourself up for disappointment, and you got it, be happy with that

concealed damage is never to be expected. Unless I removed all the tags and stickers from every garment it's impossible to know someone didn't damage it.

Just STFU and give up.

Nope; but you are bad at reading.

I was agreeing with you that the 20 people in your class be stupid 🙂 I was just saying that you not being stupid didn't make you special because of it :-D

Shopping is emotional to a great degree and why retail shopping always will exist.
A real men has no emotions other than a hate for all those who oppose him.

Same thing here.
Yep.. I came in here to agree with you... but then you got so defensive it was way too easy to get your dander up 🙂.

So more of a "I feel your pain"; "yea Dullards sucks";"they are going to go under treating people like shit" was the kind of response you posted in-order to get?

Or do you just enjoy banter with those you call your own personal "F5" crowd?
but all sales final is.
Wanescotting = WINNING!

I am a real man...I have emotion.

explaining <> defensive

And it's fun.

I don't think the entire chain sucks. None of them will get my business anymore though. They have a great selection of higher end clothing and accessories. In Palm Beach though, there are many stores like that.

Or do you just enjoy banter with those you call your own personal "F5" crowd?

Maybe you aren't so clueless after all.

Wanescotting = WINNING!

Hardly, it's akin to a child that keeps stating the sky is green when in reality you are asking them did they do their homework. That's fail.
