You gotta do what you gotta do.
Again - I'm EXTREMELY "protect intellectual property rights" and won't try to skirt fair use laws to justify doing what I know isn't right.
What I don't get is why MPAA or whatever their organization is doesn't have qualified people handling this. I still say the black hats have them beat. My guess is they sourced their needs to another company and there wasn't complete accountability for failure to deliver.
It's about delivery and two-way communication. Otherwise it will be cracked.

Obviously, I cannot post my personal opinion while I am wearing the cop hat. And obviously, I cannot speak on behalf of all Mods. We cannot officially take a stance on this, except to cover ourselves and this site and prohibit the posting of the code.
Yea, we gotta do what we gotta do.

Well what they're trying to do is impossible to protect; they're using cryptographic technology designed to keep B from seeing what A<->C are communicating, and instead making the user both B and C. You can't simultaneously give someone the ability to decrypt something and not decrypt it at the same time, it just doesn't work in the long run.Originally posted by: spidey07
I'll say again - it's the static media that is the problem. Until the MPAA realizes that they are lost. But they are in a losing position IMHO. They want to control the content AND the delivery - not gonna work in today's processing world.
Sounds like the guys doing their method have read too many textbooks on what is and isn't crackable.
Sadly this outcome was predicted.

Shouldn't FAIR USE imply that I can use it once I buy it? Serves 'em right...

You are correct, you posted before the warning. That is why you were given the opportunity to edit your post and were not just bounced.
Thank you,

You know the person that invents that type of cipher will be very rich (Bill Gates rich) or very very dead.
I'm sure it is possible to do, however it won't be something practical giving the unchangeable nature of Optical media.
