Did Christ commit suicide?

Cops don't go to work KNOWING they're going to die. It's something that sometimes just happens. People die on the job everyday. Some jobs are riskier than others. A bookeeper has less of a risk than an astronaut for example but neither can commit suicide by going to work. People that are on death row and get executed are not committing suicide either since they didn't mean to get caught, didn't mean to be convicted, and didn't mean to have a judge and jury sentence them to die.

A father that gives up an organ for his dying child would be considered sacrafice. The result of his death prolonged the life of his child.

Jesus on the other hand did commit suicide because he purposefully had himself killed without any real results.

Whether you believe that it's a good or bad thing that he died I'll leave to the religious people out there. I personally don't care. If you think a guy from 2000 years ago is making a difference in your life then all power to you. You can of course say that he died for you and then it would be considered a sacrafice but let's be honest here, the facts point to suicide. Only your personal faith can be in sacrafice. Since I don't have faith in Jesus, it's suicide.

If I knock someone from out in front of a car and get hit, saving their life, is that suicide?

No, because your aim was to save the other person, without consideration for your own life.
I would assume you would not think "I will die if I do this", but instead acted selflessly with no certain knowledge you would die.

how could he have stopped it? he could ahve put up a fight yes but i don't think he could have stopped it unless he did have powers beyond that of mortal men but even then if he used them to survive it could have meant injuring or killing others?
i don't think it was suicide, he didn't tell them to kill him, it wasn't assisted suicide, they were going to kill him anyway and he chose to die in our name rather than nothign i suppose?

hwoever i for one don't believe in any god, and if jesus did exist he was just a mortal man that helped ppl and his story changed as time went on (such as the game Telephone) and isn't it historyically accurate that he was not called the son of god until a long long LONG time (100? 1000? years later?) by a king whos name starts with a C? (brain fart i can't remember his name), damn don't make me go get my copy of the Da Vinci Code

As if anyone wouldnt be willing to die if they get to hang out in heaven for eternity. A few days of horrible pain for eternal bliss. That seems like an easy choice.
