Did anyone else not care for Guardians of the Galaxy?

I was pretty much hooked at the beginning of the trailer with the Star Lord joke. The movie stood up to my expectations and I really enjoyed it.

I liked it a lot. I couldn't stand the Avengers movie. Age of Ultron looks good, but probably won't watch it.

You like Avatar, which is a pretty good indicator you have horrible taste in movies.

😛

I really think Avatar was a decent film. The visuals (CGI) were outstanding. The plot has been done 100 times over, sure, but at least it's a solid one. It's a typical "fight the power, cheer for the underdogs, save the planet" movie, but it doesn't get old. With that said, it's not something I would watch every few years, like Indiana Jones (campy, but fun), the original Star Wars trilogy, or the Lord of the Rings trilogy (forget The Hobbit movies, I could do without those), or Casino Royale.

I loved it and gave it a 10/10. I even watched it twice back to back, and then got it again from my library two weeks later.

It has great music, perfectly intertwined to the story. Everything that made the original Star Wars great - cool gadgets, aliens, different worlds, interesting ships, etc. And, it is the first movie in a long time that made me laugh.

Will watch again.

My feelings at the end were * Wow..I got that first Star Wars feeling"

I liked it a lot. I didn't go in with any expectations and walked away very entertained. I liked it more than most marvel movies.
This is the way I've been watching movies lately. I encounter something that makes me curious to watch it, put a hold on it at my library, and when I get the DVD home I don't revisit anything, don't re-encounter what made me interested in it, don't read the DVD case info, just pop it in the player and watch. I never watch trailers except possibly after seeing the flick.

I figure the less preconception I have in watching a movie the better. I also try to avoid reading introductions to books.

😛 Seriously, it was an entertaining popcorn flick, a slight notch above most other comic-book movies.

Speaking of Avatar, whatever happened to that thread where the OP was citing examples of how the movie was anti US military or something crazy like that?

If I recall, it was a pretty lengthy, but entertaining thread.

Saw it couple weeks ago, it is ok I like it better than AOU. For people like me that don't know much about Marvel it connected some dot between films.

So Thor gave that evil things to this same collector? They might as well put it in their own basement.

I liked it

I wanna see more of Thanos though, ive never read the comics but apparently hes supposed to be some kinda ultimate badass.

Hate things cause they suck. Not cause of hype. Example. Selfies or as I call them douchies they are hyped yes but at the core they suck. Guardians was a fun movie though. Sorry

I agree,

Guardians of the Galaxy was hilarious. Solid 7 or 8 of 10 to me.

Avengers was was too much unbelievable crap to be believable, but not enough unbelievable crap to make it a good fantasy setting.

Essentially, it was a green screen crapfest.
