Me. Played online a handful of times and always had the impatient people who would rather sprint through the dungeons than take the time to investigate everything and enjoy the game. Thats' why people were running through dungeons. In the first play through I went through and looked at everything but the second play through I was looking for gear to smackdown some people in PvP.
After that, I always played solo. Beat it a couple times on solo but never felt the urge to go online and play with a bunch of kids who were just in it for the gear and "lootz"
Make a game and put a password on it. Problem solved. Gear and "lootz" was a MAJOR part of the game.
This is exactly why I prefer single player in a lot of games.
Same as above.
This is why you play with friends.
D2 had one of the worst online communities in terms of maturity. I won't only associate with pubbers for trading, and even that was excruciating.
D2 on single player is just boring, though.
+1
I am still going to say that with single player only people missed out on 70% of what the game was about. I doubt any single player legitimately made and 'Enigma','CTA', or a 'BOTD'. Items were a HUGE part of the game regardless of what you think about the game. The campaign was painfully easy, any decent geared character would tear through hell in minutes.
As for PvPing, I think it was the most enjoyable part of the game. There were hundreds of character builds you can make to PvP and it was always so amazing to see the different strategies. I still remember when the 'BvC' build became popular where a Barbarian wearing 'Enigma' would use Teleport to Whirlwind right on top of ranged classes. None of this would be possible on Single Player and in my opinion was a huge part of the game.
As for Anubis, if you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen. You know there is a risk ok getting PKed on hardcore so either:
A.) Play in password protected games with people you know
B.) Play in non-hc
C.) Use chicken, like you did anyway.
Don't come crying to me because some 10 year old kid who can TPPK owned you. I never seriously played on hardcore so it never bothered me.
