I realize there is improvements to the architecture. I was pointing out that RX 480's performance relative to the 390 and GTX 1060 is skewed much higher in this game than most other games.

Just my thinking on why the DX12 version is delayed a week...

The publisher wants the least issues possible on launch day which will be published in the news repeatedly like ubi$oft titles were. And some (nvidia) users will most probably have issues with DX12, blaming the developers and creating a fuss where the developers can't really do anything about nvidia driver/hardware issues. By delaying it a week the publisher gets minimal exposure of these types of issues marring the game launch (which they probably are well aware of) already. When the news coverage will die down a bit, then the DX12 will come out separately not potentially marring the launch, and creating continued publicity if it works well. Just look at what Vulkan did for DOOM!

If my german is correct, PCgameshardware's test says the game used 10-14GB system RAM

More and more these days I'm finding that still screenshots don't really give me a great idea of how impressive the graphics are until I'm playing it myself. Since so much of graphics depends on animations, art style, etc. Lots of games look great in screenshots but then you have wooden animations and objects which don't translate well to motion (remember how the leaves would "look" at you in Oblivion?). Even games having clunky consoleitis controls decreases my perception of the graphics because it seems less responsive to my eyes. H1Z1 can have decent looking screenshots but once you're playing it you definitely would rate it in the bottom of the stack for graphics.

I've got a feeling this game is going to depend a lot on the graphics with motion.

game seems to look pretty decent (in most places) from the streams i am seeing. really dense environments. definitely should run better with dx12, if they actually do it right. Hopefully they've learnt some things from hitman and tomb raider.

Sometimes the assets looking lame tho. Seems like mostly indoor assets. Maybe off main path areas weren't given as much love.

Final version benchmarks.Aftermarket 980TI again faster than aftermarket 1070.GTX1080 again 30% faster than GTX1070....
GTX1060 3GB slower than GTX970...
I dont know..It looks like only one good pascal card is GTX1080.Rest is overpriced crap.

As I've been saying ,the final code would likely be different, and sure enough it is.. It's too bad they didn't do a CPU scaling test though..

Fury X needs dx12 loving. Not sure whether to worry about the VRAM. for some reason the card was doing well at 4K before

Quite nice Performance of RX 480 10 fps more than 1060 (20%) and above custom 980 in DX11. Lets wait for DX12 Performance.

Curious as to whether the 3GB of VRAM is causing the GTX 1060 to get such low scores. I guess we'll know when they finish benching the 6GB version.

GTX 1060 6GB is 21% faster than GTX 1060 3GB and both are running at similar clocks. The worst part is GTX 1060 3GB is slower is slower than MSI GTX 970. This shows why 3GB and even 4GB is a bad choice in 2016. Look at Rx 480 Nitro 8GB vs Rx 470 Strix 4GB. 35% faster. I would say 6-8GB is now the recommended VRAM for 1080p/1440p.

Yeah GTX1060 3Gb is bad card..Even worse than GTX1070 it should be called GTX1050.
But rx470 is not much better in this game heh

At home to play this. I think with what I've seen so far this is the new Crysis 3 in terms of visuals. Gorgeous game. It's extremely demanding. 2.05ghz TXP and the benchmark gives me 70fps average, minimums were in the 40s. Highest settings with no MSAA. MSAA is pretty much unplayable for me with the FPS being way too low.

another benchmark. only the mighty GP102 aka Titan X can do 60 fps at 1440p max settings . To even hit 60 fps at 1080p High settings you need GTX 1070,980Ti,Fury X. This game is a GPU killer. Hopefully the graphics are worth it. DX 12 should bump things up performance wise but we have to wait a couple of weeks for that.

how is GTX1080 35% faster than GTX1070 in that test in 1440P?
Like WTF is going on with 1070?

TITANX is only 20% faster than GTX1080...The gap in GTX1080 vs 1070 is just WOW...

EDIT:390x is almost as fast as aftermarket 1070 and furyx is faster LOL

The most intensive setting is MSAA by far. I'd say it's unusable for how demanding it is. Next would be contact hardening shadows.

FYI if you are planning on pre-ordering, it's still $45 at greenmangaming once you sign in. You get the "Pre-Order" version and steam key right away.

The RX 480 putting a serious beating on the GTX 1060 and the R9 390. Looks like AMD is putting in the special "optimization" sauce for their newer cards like Nvidia did with Maxwell over Kepler.

I expect just about every game coming out that is sponsored by Nvidia or AMD to have the same polarizing results like this, at least until a few driver releases after the game releases. Recommending a card now, more than ever, will be based on the specific games played.

Which makes threads like "1060: faster than 480" extremely misleading to uniformed consumers that come here looking for quick advice. Wonder if Sweepr will change the title?

Beyond that, excellent excellent showing for the Radeon 480 and Geforce 1080, pretty abysmal showing for the 1060.

Plays fairly smooth with all MSAA off, textures on very high (much like Doom, the highest setting is only recommended for cards with more than 4 GB VRAM), and everything maxed out. Definitely not 60 FPS though. So playable for the time being, but definitely looking forward to the DX12 update.

maybe this game is pushing the GPU fill rate to the max. you can also see Fury X only 15% faster than R9 390X (both have 64 ROPs).

When the DX12 version releases I expect the Rx 480 to increase its lead over GTX 1060.

Another reason for me dont buy x70 card anymore. Its more and more crippled every generation and cost more and more every generation.
GTX970 vs 980 there is only 19% gap at 1440P.670 vs 680 was pretty much same performance.

Next time i will buy BIG SKU.

BTW i have 670,970 and 1070.

EDIT: how do you think "REAL" GTX1070 with 4xGPC and 2048SP will looks like in this game?
