don't cry to me when greenmangaming is gone in 5 months

looking forward to the game

Just like they said about steam ....

If anyone still wants it , head over to Greenmangaming. Amazing price with that discount. Plus they give you 5 free bucks for future purchase after the order is complete.

Disregard the haters...

Done first mission and cleaned out HQ. I have some nitpicky gripes that I think kinda detract from the game unnecessarily.

-You run too fast, it feels slightly awkward.
-The instant transition out of cover is weird and clunky.
-Clicking interface elements can often be temperamental, requiring multiple clicks or sometimes double registering.
-AI spotting you seems strangely inconsistent, where sometimes you'll be seen across the room and other times they're right next to you and derp it up.
-Takedowns require energy. >:|

Like I said, nit picky. Game seems pretty good so far.

Bah, I missed the preorder for $34. It's back up to $49.99, which is $40 with the coupon code. On the flip side, the Augmented Edition was still on sale for the same price as the regular, so I got the AE for $40.

I pre-ordered the retail Augmented version awhile back, got an email and text today to say it has been dispatched 🙂.

Technical stuff. MLAA is really blurry. Max FXAA and SSAO looks good. 1920 x 1200 getting 60 with Vsync on. Around 80 with it off. Really having trouble aiming, bad guys can be 5 feet away and I can't hit them. Been adjusting FOV and x and y axis but haven't found anything that works yet. Following tips from EIDOS and Steam forums.

Most important question of all: Is there an option to invert mouse??? I was about to blow up an orphanage when they didn't have that option right off the bat with Witcher 2.

How many versions of the game exist and is there really much of a difference between them ?

I think there are 3 versions(retail wise),ie Standard,Augmented and CE version,

Augmentation has this,

  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Augmented Edition features the same exclusive mission as the Explosive Mission Pack, 10,000 extra credits to buy or upgrade weapons, plus a Huntsman Silverback Double-Barrel Shotgun, the SERSR Longsword Whisperhead silenced sniper rifle, the Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher, an Automatic Unlocking Device and the M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (UR-DED)
  • If that's not enough, the Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Augmented Edition also contains an exclusive bonus DVD featuring a 44 minute making of special, game soundtrack, motion-comic (adapted from DC's official series) plus the E3 trailer and animated storyboard plus an exclusive 40 page art book

I'm interested in picking up the AE version from greenmangaming.com. Will they ship the extras? I see no mention of it one way or the other.

What the heck? I pre-loaded about 40% of it last night and this morning when I booted up the computer again to resume, it made me start from scratch!

I preloaded the game last night on steam and played the first level very briefly before heading off to work.

I'm running a 1st Gen Asus G53JW. I can either run the game at 1080P with Tesselation / AA / SSAO / off at around ~20 frames OR run with everything on at 720P and around ~40 - 60 FPS. I can't be more specific as I didn't have time to run a benchmark, or find the settings to show the exact framerate.

Overall the game atmosphere is amazing. A small touch of consolitis on the controls - Crouch is a toggle by default, which I find annoying. Also the chat menu uses a Up, Down, Left, Right Response guide similar to a Mass effect chat wheel except you need to press an Arrow Key (WASD) to select your choice and then confirm it by pressing the 'enter' key. This game was definitely designed for a Controller first. A little clunky, but overall a small nitpick on an otherwise impressive game.

???
I used the mouse, and I could confirm with space or E, I don't remember which one..

I wonder if the wired Xbox 360 controller will do it any justice?

Ahh as I said I only tried it very briefly before I left for work. That would make it nicer. But still having to double confirm your choice seemed weird at first glance. Just a minor nitpick. I'm sure the controls will work beautifully if I plug in my 360 controller. That's how I played Witcher 2. Keyboard controls are good but I have a sneaking suspicion the controller plays better. I'll check it out tonight when I get home post earthquake madness.

So far past the initial 2 missions. The game plays much like the first two from my recollection. The Tetris inventory makes its comeback. Combat feels just like the first one. Not a lot of blood or gore. Guns don't really feel or sound realistic. I think your crawl speed is the same as your walk speed, so there's no real downside to being in midget mode all the time.

Thanks Mem;

Btw anyone know how long the single player campaign is - these days they seem to run 10 hours but i htink the original was 20 or 30.
