I pre-ordered it when it was on sale for $29 at green man gaming. From what I've seen of it I expect to get ratings in the range of 8-8.5; an excellent game but some minor execution problems prevent it from being truly great.

I don't understand how can you rate something if you haven't played it.

I pre-ordered the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Augmented Edition version,I might hold off playing until my new PC is built in September.

It'll be interesting to see how polished the retail version is.

I wasn't rating it personally, just posting what I expected from it from the previews I've seen.
To me it looks like an excellent, complex game that I'm really going to enjoy. However, due to that complexity I'm guessing that they'll be a few hiccups along the way (bugs, odd ai, etc.) that will be nitpicked by reviewers and land it somwhere in the 8-8.5 range. That's just my opinion anyway.

I hadn't heard a word about this game, but the previews sound fantastic. I'll have to keep an eye out for this one.

8-8.5 is a terrible score for a game in this day and age. Many a mediocre game get 9-9.5 these days.

I buy games based on what forum say on the day of release.

Major whining about irrelevant details = GOTY

Fanboys excusing major holes = AVOID

🙂

haha, that's a good system. It's always a good sign when a new game has hundreds of pages of arguments about whether this or that weapon is overpowered or if the ending works on enough levels.

If a game sucks people just say it sucks and move on.

The developers get points from me just for checking forums like this to see what complaints people had about the trailers and modifying the game accordingly. From that and these reviews it appears they are really interested in producing the best game they can. Still, after all the predatory marketing in the last few years I'll wait for it come out before leaping to conclusions about just how good it is.

i started Deus Ex 1 recently and just can't get into it. I don't know if it's graphics or what. Gameplay just doesn't seem fun so far either.

I've seen some trailers for the new one and it looks awesome. Sounds like it has a good story too.
