Shit I forgot the biggest one iOS has that Android doesn't, not even with a 3rd party app. iOS can normalize audio. I stream a ton of music in my car and there's nothing worse than going from a song with normal volume to one that's so loud it damn near makes you go deaf. Sound Check in iOS isn't perfect, but Android offers nothing at all here.

1) Multitasking: Uhh, how many of you actually used Symbian S60. Oh right probably not many. That was full blown multitasking, well before webOS was doing it.

2) Mail Swipe: It's a good feature. Who's talking like it's an Apple innovation?

3) Action center: When did we actually get toggles in Android? 4.2.2? After how many years of CyanogeMod, Samsung, HTC. What do you call Google with 4.2? Stealing tom HTC? Stealing from CyanogenMod? 4.2.2 brought in actual toggles because 4.2 was horribly done. They blatantly stole from CM with long hold features o the QS menu?

4) Filters: Uh, and what does that make Google and its AOSP camera filters in 4.2? Should we do an Instagram and AOSP side by side and say "Google innovation. Nuff said?"

5) Lockscreen: Remove the wallpaper and what do you have? How about putting Android 2.x lock screen next to the iPhone lock screen in 2007? Too much alike? Who innovated there? Apple made slide to unlock the go-to method. Android only started drifting away with 4.0. Maybe fearing lawsuits?

6) Weather: Weather's been out forever on Apple iOS. I have yet to see native AOSP weather. What's the point in comparing to a 3rd party app?

7) Tabbed browsing was there in Safari already.

8) Action bar: Uhh the action bar has been there forever with software buttons on iOS. I think if anything Android has gone from no action bar to action bar to be like iOS. But I'm not calling them stealers like you.

9) Great, so you chose a bunch of iOS 7 features that were on Android first. We can play that game with Android too:

Stuff that Google came out with AFTER Apple:
- Conversational search (because traditional Voice Search that Android users love claiming was there before Siri was so awesome that Google needed to go heads up with Siri right?)
- Hardware acceleration in Android 4.0 - Because all the people who denied lag in 2.x and Diane Hackborne, an intern, said that who needs 60fps?
- SMS integration like iMessage?
- Slide to unlock
- Pinch zoom - I remember discussing this when the Droid first hit. Go back in this forum and you can find dozens of users saying how stupid pinch zoom is and how its unnecessary. Please.
- Multi touch keyboard - Apple had this in 2007. Took tip what? 2010 before Google put this in AOSP? Their keyboard still sucks to this day.
- Low shutter lag - So after Apple made this a "thing" with the iPhone 4S launch, I guess Google had to press hard with its GNex doing the same thing, except with a terribad camera.

It goes both ways buddy there are PLENTY of people who slam ANYTHING that Google does too. And slide to unlock/pinch to zoom existed before apple.

It's not that they ripped off ideas (which they did), it's also that they shamelessly completely ripped off the design. Are you going to claim, for example, that their new implementation of tabbed browsing isn't a complete ripoff of how android does it?

What is this exchange bug u speak of? I just got an ip5 from work and the battery life is miserably bad.
 
OMFG they all copy each other. There are a very limited number of ways that one can do things in an efficient manner. I don't know why people can't just f'n acknowledge reality. Every and I mean EVERY mobile OS both past and present has been influenced by every other mobile OS.

I like the direction iOS is going in, but lack of true multitasking, default apps, usable file structure, screen size, and the wall of icons will keep me on Android for another year. Looking forward to see what changes in iOS8. Choice is always a good thing (my phone is thru work and is Android or iOS only, so unfortunately I can't consider a Win phone).

iOS 6.1 through I believe 6.1.2 had an exchange calendar sync issue where it would continually sync with the server in the background and cause battery drain. You never know because everything is appearing normal in your calendar. Supposedly fixed in 6.1.3 and 6.1.4.

I'll see if I can dig up some info on it and people's fixes. There are ways to get it to stop but the easiest is to clean wipe to 6.1.4 then restore your settings from a backup. And you want to do the install from your computer. OTA still has issues.

Funny, I actually don't like it at all. It looks a lot like Sense 4. Stock Android has the best multitasking presentation IMHO. I feel really limited only seeing 3 "cards" at a time. The less swiping and scrolling I have to do the better.

I'd say that it's not that they ripped off ideas (I don't actually mind that, if everybody uses the best stuff we all gain), it's that they act so outraged if someone 'copies' them.
 
looks sweet... it's not fair to compare these features one to one. Android allowed manufacturers to apply their own features and skins onto the interface. For instance, Touchwiz allowed android to have toggles on GB (before 4.2.2). Obviously if you downloaded third party apps then you were able to mimic the same features before even Jellybean (not possible on iOS)

Of course everyone is copying everybody else. Everyone knows this, and I will laugh and make fun of either sides when they do something like this, especially when it's so blatant.

If the platform you're a user of came up with something that people laughed at because it's copying something that came out before it, just take it. Because you know it's true.

Based on yesterday's presentation I know that I will absolutely love iOS 7 on my 5th gen Touch. I really can't wait until it's out and have it installed. I'm also not going to deny that it's blatantly copying features and even looks from other platforms. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
 
OMFG! I just totally destoyed my iphone 4! 🙂 Seriously, ios 7 totally crippled my ip4. It is completely and totally slow and useless. Looks nice tho. Wondering if i should put on my 5.

You can downrev your iP4 to whatever version Apple is signing.

I've got it running on my 5 and it's been very smooth and fluid thus far. There are some 3rd party app compatibilities where things don't line up correctly but the base OS is very nice. Again you can always downgrade back to 6.1.4 if you don't like it.

I dont know yet. The auto app update can be be turned on or off for music, apps and system updates. Thats good cuz I didnt want this to update apps automatically. Im looking for a list showing what 7 is adding. I may just do this on my ip5 as the 4 is just too slow. Almost to the point I want to smash it. Maps looks better but GPS is completely gone or nonexistent. Will update the 5 and let ya know more.
