You definitely need to consult with a good traffic ticket attorney. I don't know about California, but in Texas there are plenty of them around. California has crazier drivers, so I'm sure they are available. Unless it's a DUI (DWI), they are usually pretty reasonable. It usually cost me about $200 for a good defense in Houston.

101 mph is really not that fast on the interstate. I do 105-110 mph every day going to and from work on Beltway 8 in Houston. Fortunately, I've never been ticketed for anything over 92. Although, I have received 27 moving violations since 1991, and the great majority of those were for speeding.

Okay, listen.... Kendogg is in a serious situation here. yea yea yea, he drove at a high speed of 101 and got caught twice on it, but think about his position right now. Stop thinking about yourselves and place yourself in your position, what exactly do you think you'll be doing in a case like this.... LOOKING FOR HELP, right now, he doesn't need to be scolled on since he is already going to be tried on it, so if you don't have any damn advise then don't bother coming in here saying your opinion. I'm seriously getting tired of some of you and your crap posts. He's asking for help so GIVE IT TO HIM, don't judge him more than he's already been.....you people make me sick

You and people like you make me sick.

He calls the policeman a "heartless officer" who "really didnt care for what the consequences I was about to face".

Kendogg could have killed someone. He could have wiped out an entire family.

"Stop thinking about yourselves" - Nice comment, but we all have to share our roads with people like this. Damn right I'm going to be thinking about myself. I don't want to get killed by some rebelious teenager with a chip on his shoulder driving 101 mph.

He didn't think about the possible consequences of his actions, and he still hasn't. He needs to have his licence yanked. He needs some time to grow up.
I can guarantee that he will hurt someone in due time if he keeps driving like that. It's just a matter of time.

And we'll see what you say if your loved ones are hurt or killed by someone who drives like Kendogg. I hope it never happens, but I doubt that you would have the same attitude as you display now.

Doesn't look that way to me. I have no sympathy for you at all. Go cry somewhere else.

I agree with Danny, he asked for advice not for a$$holes to come here and scold him and what not. Am I alone on this or can anyone else relate. Open highway no traffic??? We all went 101 even 150 mph. The only difference is that I got away and he got caught. Anyway, I suggest consult like the previous posts said, consult with a lawyer. However, because this is your second offense I don't know if you can get away. Go to the court, I know here in NY if the officer does not attend the ruling the case gets dismissed and no charges get filed. In the future, I suggest get a valantine radar to be safe.

I've never gone faster than 90 mph and that was in a 70 mph zone. I've never received a speeding ticket. Don't make what he did seem alright because everyone does it, because everyone DOES NOT do it. What I don't get is why most people think that the people on this board have questions for everything. Next someone's going to kill someone and then come on here and ask for advice. The advice is simple. Get a lawyer.

ok...he comes in here asking for advice, he gets what he gets. This is not the "free legal advice" forum, this is an off topic forum. If he can't handle the heat, get outta the kitchen. Also I think people would be a lot more friendly if he didn't port the attitude "The system f-ing screwed me over" and "The world owes me!". Is there a particular reason he can't do 80 mph instead of 101?

Oh...and since u do 150 mph, I'm glad you're 3000 miles away from me. Cuz I sure hate to be on teh same road as you when u go at that speed! Keep in mind if you fall asleep at the wheel, you don't just go straight...you can go into oncoming traffic too.

well, its obviously clear that he'll NEVER get any help from the AT boards because there are many opinionated bastards that just love to fuel the fire. I agree with most of you of course, I do believe he isn't smart and he does deserve the punishment, but he's just asking for some god damn advise.......i give up here, i've just learned that if I have a serious matter to share, or desperate for some help, i'll make sure that I don't click here in ATOT.

i'm outta this thread, laters, and best of luck kendogg

Ya you guys can laugh, flame, or even call me an idiot and what not. This is a serious matter all I care for is advice at this time.

I think the first sentence was intended in a sarcastic tone to imply the second one.

here is what you have to do:

1) pull down pants
2) bend over
3) get screwed

i don't think we need to flame him here, because the judge is gonna burn his ass.

It is serious...it is serious that he doesn't want to be responsible for his actions and expects us to help him get outta something most of us feel is very very vile and reprehensible.

Kendogg,

Get some common sense, a lawyer, and a radar detector. In that order. Lawyers do a world of good... They got me out of a conviction for no turn on red once...

You may not read this because you're out of this thread, but DannyLove, if you have a serious matter, I would hope that you wouldn't post it hear. I hope that you have family and friends in real life that can help you if it's really that serious. Why anyone would post on a board, with this many readers, a serious problem that they are having in their lives is beyond me. I enjoy this forum for the silly posts and the serious discussions, but if I ever was in a situation like that, I definately wouldn't post an open thread on a board on the Internet. That's what my friends and family are for.

Oh blah, blah, blah. All you folks yelling at the guy for excessive speeding. Pooh on you. A few things.

1. Did he deserve the ticket? Yes. You play, you pay.
2. Did he endanger anyone else? No, not really. He already stated he was on some deserted highway and there was nobody else out there. It's familyvan driving, 55mph and not a MPH over, folks like you that CAUSE accidents.

You are the "Keepers of the Speed". You won't speed up and you'll be damned if you let me pass. You all stink as far as I'm concerned.

I don't speed in parking lots, school zones, crowded highways or residential streets. But if I'm on an open highway or interstate and there's nobody there but me and Jesus, you bet your boots I'll do 90 or 100mph. Faster if I'm on the bike. So there. Oh yeah....I have a totally clean driving record. The system can be beat....oh yeah, I've paid my share of huge fines too. So there.

ps
Hire a lawyer. Trust me onthat. The cop is going to show up. Just specifically to watch you get the book thrown at you. The judge will make an example out of you (he won't use any Vaseline, either) so get a lawyer. You'll get off w/a fine and a 90-day probation period. Let me know what happens. Good luck!

Advice? WTF!!!!!!! Here's some advice for free. STOP DRIVING 100MPH! You are lucky dude your not in Jersey. You go to jail here, it can be consider a very serious offense the first time. I remember the thread. I can't believe you were stupid enough to do it again. You might as well just save your money on a lawyer. Cause the fine is going to big enough. I doubt a lawyer would even take the case. Guy you got to slow down. Last thing we need to read is you ending up in bad car wreck from speeding. Didn't mean to come down hard on ya, but you have got to slow down. At that speed any accident would surely result in death. Just chill. Hopefully the judge will cut you slack, but I doubt it.

Ya I know I was going to get flamed and criticized right from the get go. But I desperately wanted some advice. Even through all of the useless garbage that has cluttered my post I have found some useful information, and to those people I just want to say thankyou.

Michael:

How does he know he's alone? You gotta look out for the other side:

his speed: 100 mph
other side: 65 mph
total: 165 mph

At those speeds, you cover 242 feet / second. If something goes wrong, he goes on the other side pretty damn quick. ANd yes, I know there are those pits in the middle of highway 5, but trust me, he'll get through and over those in no time and smash the other side with enough force to kill not just HIM but the passengers of the other vehicle.

I would suggest plead no contest and asked for leniency. You definitely need to drive to the court though, don't take any chance with mail.
I don't know how much help a lawyer can do, considering this is your second violation of the exact kind ? I guess if the cop doesn't show up you can walk away free ?

<< Argo,

Why did you even respond? In what way did you help kendogg?
>>

In a way that there'll be one less idiot on our street doing 100mph. In a way, that if one of those idiots was denied the right to drive, my good friend's family would be still alive. Now, if you want to help him, that's your business.

I dont think people here are saying they dont speed-I think they are saying limit the speeding to a SAFE rate, and dont whine about it or blame the system if you get busted.

I'd go 20 over on a clear road, and pay the ticket if I got caught. Afterwords, I would, try this, THINK about my current record and make a CHOICE whether or not speeding again is worth the risk, be it of ticket or of injuring others.

A speed of 100mph, IMO, is not safe, and even if kendogg is a great driver who can handle that rate of speed, it's still not legal. sucks that he got caught, dumb that he pulled the same crap again.

And the speed limit was? 75mph? 80? I think anything over 20 past the speed limit is just asking to get pulled over. And you say it was only a two-lane road, and the roads were 'almost' clear? Sounds like you are a danger on the road.

Yes, your only chance is to pony up the bucks and get a lawyer. You will get nowhere with your claim that the cop was heartless for giving you a ticket for driving 3 digits. If you don't lose your license you'll be doing really well, but even if you do lose it, the only person you have to blame is yourself. That's the first thing you have to own up to. And the second is the idea that 100 miles an hour is not a healthy speed in the US. Sure, <you> may be able to handle the speed, but the little old lady stopped around the next corner waiting to make a turn probably won't be able to. Just think about the fact that twice in less than a year you've gotten pulled over by a cop that you didn't see in time to slow down. That could have just as easily been something else in the road, someone in oncoming traffic pulling into your lane to pass, etc., that you could have hit.

Fastball says he does 105-110 every day, but you only have to look in the nearest junkyard to see what 110-to-0 looks like when you hit a stationary obstacle. Slow down there, big fella, before you hurt somebody.

this is just sad. I'm going to assume that the "advice" you consider useful involves getting a lawyer and getting out of this. seems you havent learned sh!t from this. All those poeple have done everyone on the road a huge disservice, helping put a reckless and remorseless moron like you back on the road.

I honestly would like to wish you well in your attempt to keep your license, except I think that'd be a very bad idea-and I hope the judge reconizes this too.

Be accountable for your actions. Plead guilty, pay the fine, go without your license indefinetely and the roads will be safer because of it. Grow up, and start driving like you have a brain. You havent killed anyone YET.

Damn, there must have been a hot deal on flamethrowers. He's not doing anything different than you or I in his situation. Kendogg is a longtime member of AT and I can assure your he is not some maniac. Granted 101 is fast but how many of you have been on a speed limit 55 road, looked down and realize you are doing 75 - 80MPH? I am less afraid of a driver doing 101 than some idiot weaving in and out cutting people off at 75. I'm sure he feels bad enough and no punishment dished out here can be greater than what he is dealing to himself.
