There is just no way you can equate the propaganda coming from the left to that of the right. There is an order of magnitude in difference that is plainly apparent. Hell, look no further than the campaigns of the last election as proof. But anyway, if that kid had eyes and ears I can pretty much guarantee he was exposed to that hateful rightwing rhetoric as much as everyone else was. Yes he's also clearly obviously disturbed, and maybe he decided in 2007 he was going to do something like this. Or maybe it took 3 more years of the kind of vitriol spewed by the right to turn his screw enough to actually do it. I don't know. You don't know. But to defend those who overtly encouraged this very sort of thing, and created such an upside down environment where we actually have morons defending it because "maybe" it didn't contribute to this incident, is flat out sickening.

No. The only sickening thing going on right now is the left trying to tar the right and using the blood of innocent victims to score political points. It's opportunism at it's worst. And you're either guilty of it, or a fool who actually is falling for it. Which is it?

Yes, yes. Damn that freedom of speech, unless of course you agree with it. This is the mindset of the left. You can see it in action. This is how they think, it is who they are at their core. Freedom of speech, as long as you agree otherwise you shouldn't speak or laws need to be written so one can't. This is who they are.

Yes, it is the same. A target is what you shoot at.

A target is just that, a target. As in targeted advertising, targeting a political office for campaigning, or whatever. Palin's crosshair map was supposed to invoke the same targeting of the political office, but for some insane reason she chose to use sniper rifle scope crosshairs. Her aid said they were "surveyor symbols", which implies she knew there was something wrong with using crosshairs. Or did Palin want to "survey" Gifford?

As for words, how about "you don't bring a knife to a gunfight"
Obama.

It's called a figure of speech. Putting rifle scope crosshairs on a map doesn't even relate to any figure of speech. "Don't retreat, reload" isn't a figure of speech, it's part of the "2nd ammendment solution" rhetoric the right has been using.

We could go on for days and days here.

Yeah we could go on for days and days if you continue with this false equivalency nonsense.

Hey moron, no one is saying the right winger should be arrested for their speech. Do you not understand that freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from criticism, or are you too fucking dumb?

Please start following your own stupid ass reasoning, and never criticize anyone's free speech ever again.

You aren't merely criticizing the speech though, as you well know.

So why didn't Loughner buy a rifle and use a scope?

Did someone shoot Giffords with a Glock in a campaign ad, or have Glock sights on her picture, or have a map with Glock sights?

I doubt that these shootings will hurt Ms Palin particularly with her base. Now will this incident help her because people will think she is being picked on? I doubt that too.

I doubt she choose anything, it was probably a staff member who came up with the idea and one of her handlers approved it after telling her what a great idea it was. Her fault was not to think about how bad it would look if some nutcase happened to shoot one of those who were targeted. There was no malice on her part, just piss poor judgement.

Huh? When did I say he was getting marching orders from Palin? I'm trying to tell you pedantic buffoons that the far right and the far left are promoting insane anti-government hysteria that warrants "2nd amendment solutions", leaking secret government documents, secession, revolution, etc.

Choosing? Who said anything about choosing?

If Loughner was inspired by the scope images and the rifle references and M-16 references, etc., why didn't he use one? Why didn't his twisted mind tell him to get a rifle with a scope?

Now let me see if I got this straight...Palin is somehow the blame for this tragedy for her choice of graphics (crosshairs) used to depict vulnerable Congressional districts in 2007? Somebody please help me with this.

I've been saying that all along...but I don't agree that it's actually inspiring anybody to violence.

Those who are violent, became violent long ago. You don't become a violent political activist overnight. It's a long indoctrination.

It would be good if the heated rhetoric would stop, but clearly it won't.

Not to mention that they look more like printer's alignment marks or surveyor's marks than a rifle scope.

I've never seen a scope where the crosshairs go outside the scope.

Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near?

Look knuckle head, I just said she had nothing to do with this guy killing those people, that it was just unfortunate for her to have that chart on her website with a target on a Congress woman who was shot. It was stupid for all involved to have a chart like that but it wasn't the reason that those people were shot

Palin used this graphic:
spmap.jpg

Dems used this graphic:
demmap.jpg

So it's now come down to crosshairs vs. bullseyes. Is this insanity or what?

That's not how I read your post, but if so, then we agree.

No need for the name calling "knuckle head" rhetoric, it might set me off. :D

I like how you cut off the bottom of the Palin map, that lists representatives to go with each crosshair, including Giffords.

The Democrat map has target marks on STATES, and the text says that STATES should be ripe targets.

Edit: Ah, it's not you who cut off the bottom, but Michelle Malkin. Hm. I wonder why she did that.

It's illegal for someone with mental problems to purchase a handgun. It's a shame that no one intervened and reported the purchase. So many people apparently knew of his mental state.

So, if Loughner had shot a candidate from one of those states...

Is that the logic?

Then your complaint regarding this shooting is dismissed. It's opportunistic rhetoric. Your sense of what is and what should be are hopelessly entangled. Looks like the paper is probably right. You'll make palin look good by trying to frame her. You won't like it but then again some dont like that Obama is a legitimate citizen. Please, continue.

Hey man, I don't like that ANY Liberal is a legitimate citizen. I still agree that they, in fact, are. Much to my dismay.
