Obama doesn't "owe" the Republican Party a god damn thing. He serves this NATION first and foremost, not the Republican party. He will do what he sees fit to advance this country forward, and it just so happens the Republicans have an absolutely toxic agenda so it should come as no surprise that there are few ideas and people he wants from their side on his team.

AND, as stated elsewhere Bush heavily filled his administration with personal and party loyalists more so than competent qualified individuals, which gives Obama so much less to choose from in that regard.

Not really. Atlas Shrugged is a horrible book. Like... really embarrassingly bad. It's not just Ayn Rand's ridiculous anarcho-capitalism, but the book is written like a 3rd grader did it.

I don't recall a single high ranking republican ever telling a lefist to leave if they don't like it. I do recall a lot of mocking of those liberals who claimed they were going to move to France after Bush won re-election.

All you said was "not really", which made it seem you were actually going to present a counter-argument, but then you went right into bashing the book via issuence of your own opinion. Have you read the book? Be honest now... if there are no parallel's as you claim, then what is your real argument to the contrary?

Perfect example:
Massachusetts v. Mississippi
Mass is one fifth the size of Miss
Mass has twice as many people.

Mass's GSP is $338 billion.
Miss's GSP is $84 billion.

Based on that the state of Mass is going to provide a LOT more taxes to the Federal government and going to require a lot less in returned dollars. Especially since so much of our Federal tax dollars go help poor people.

BTW comparing dollars out to dollars in is not very useful since some areas of the country have MUCH higher income levels than others. A better measure would be Federal dollars spent per person since that would show which states suck up the most money per person.
