Democrats, NOT REPUBLICANS, want higher gas prices

I love how you take one state and extrapolate that to cover the entire country! Fascinating!

1. read the topic summary, "Maryland Democrat wants to raise our gas tax"

2. This kind of tactic is used all day long by the left on this board to conservatives and Republicans is that ok with you?

3. Ted Haggard was used to discredit the whole Christian religion, were you defending Christians in that thread?

4. What exactly is your criteria for labeling Democrats and Republicans? Do you need to have one from each state that agrees with something?

Edit - I guess its acceptable for you to call conservatives retards and say that they need their own version of reality in this thread but its not ok for me to say that Democrats are going for higher gas prices in the State of Maryland when that is exactly what they are trying to do.

I guess you become what you hate the most, eh JD?

MN DFL(Democrats) want to slap a 30 cent state gas tax to pay for special pet projects.

oh btw we are running a surplus in our state budget. But that wont stop the thieves from taking more.

They're pissing you and your fellow Republicans off? Good

BTW, were the same thieves responsible for the surplus?

The rich will likely be taxed more in the long run because their large, inefficient, luxury vehicles will use more fuel per use.

Makes sense since I have to drive 2 hours each way everyday to pay for the ballooning property taxes. I say cut spending on the money pit areas, like welfare, education, and gov't salaries, its not like we haven't thrown enough money at these areas and nothing gets better as the band keeps playing on the deck of this sinking ship.

As a liberal, I am against increasing taxes on gasoline because they are regressive. But what is the conservative opposition to actual increases in fuel taxes to fund programs that may otherwise requre other, more progressive tax increases.

I am not against a progressive tax system. But I feel our current system is overly complex and things need to be tweaked. For started the alternative min tax needs to be raised. Many middle class families are being nailed with it every year.

What I find interesting are democrats who propose these regressive tax plans who hurt the bottom ring of our society the most, then turn around and tell them republicans are the problem. In MN the democrats also want to raise the gas tax. Who gets hurt most by this, ritch rich in his SUV or low income worker at walmart? Our democrats also want to raise the sales tax to subsidize local govt so property taxes arent raised. Another ponzi scheme where the lowest ring pays for everybody else's benefit.

My solution for democrats wanting to raise the gas taxes to fund more road construction. If you want to find money, look within your mass transit systems. Lots of waste and inefficiency and billions a year spent annually that can build a lot of roads.

Obviously, they stole more than they need from taxpayers and want more.
