You just went full retard, son.

You think the Socialist Muslim Kenyan-born Nazi Hitler Obama is somehow now a terrorist sympathizer to Al-Qaida. You are nuts; it's time to shut down the computer and step away from the keyboard.

I type facts and the truth; Not things like "full-retard" and call names.Did Obama offer any help to Kenya when terrorists took over a mall and were killing non-Muslims?No. Did he want to bomb Syria? Yes.

Perhaps you never learned deductive reasoning.

As I understand it, the House would have been forced to take up the clean bill that was offered by the Senate if this rule had remained.....but Republican leadership amended the rules to prevent that from ever happening. Had the rules not changed, we now know that there would be sufficient votes to pass a clean CR through the House.. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politic...in-house-supports-clean-govt-funding-measure/

Republicans keep trying to pin the shutdown on Democrats....but it will never work. Republicans own the shutdown, it's irrefutable at this point.

Outside of the kind of maniacs who argued that George W Bush killed ben Laden, how many people doubt that the current and the past Federal government crises have been orchestrated by the Republicans?

Orchestrated is too strong a word, and the House has very little power compared to the Senate and the President. The situation is born from intractability.

It takes two to tango.

By "orchestrated" I mean they plan the shutdown months ago.

Yes the House has more members than the Senate or the executiive branch but I can not say the body has "very little power".

It takes two the tango but what if the other person's agenda is completely unacceptable or not wanting to set a precedence of it being acceptable to control the country by threatening to drive the economy into the ditch?

It takes two to tango.

There being two sides to a hostage situation does not make the two sides morally equal. The terrorists having leverage does not grant legitimacy to their demands. You do not say, "Oh, the terrorists want $10 million and the victim's family would rather this situation go away (zero), I guess that means that both should compromise at $5 million to the terrorists."

That you are on the side of the terrorists and your desire to see them win has you rooting for $10 million, $5 million, or anything but zero, does not make them not terrorists. The blindness resulting from your bias does not change the truth.

Two to tango does not apply in this situation.

Fights almost never break out between two parties who mutually accept the terms. If only you could ask all the people in the world that have died in a fight if it takes "two to tango".

For every civil war where both sides are fighting for a cause, there are 10 wars where people die because they have some petty resource that the other side wants.

T minus three days until Armageddon.

GOP schedule:
* shutdown government
* make US default, throwing country back into recession
* blame democrats on shut down to boost up their chances in 2014
* when the US goes back into a recession, blame it on Obamacare

I've never seen a group of people so happy to destroy the fragile economy that we're in.

To build what you want, you sometimes have to tear down what you have.

My unsolicited advice would be to save the anxiety for when it happens. But it's not going to happen.

In the mean time, there's lots of time to come up with all the horror that occurred during the weeks leading up the agreement. This area is one that even the media has ignored. Which is curious in and of itself, but no matter, I'm sure there's lots of cannon fodder out there to be discovered.

Oh you're an excellent little left wing media parot.

this is the rest of the 1st world posting in to say we all think it is the republicans fault :\

/runs

The USA has succeeded in spite of it political process. The question is can the American philosophy be sustained while maintaining its world wide dominance and influence.

I can't speak on behalf of all of Sweden but just about everyone is talking about the government shutdown and the upcoming debt limit. Everyone thinks we're idiots and everyone blames the Republicans.

It's actually been a good way to meet people at a bar.

Blames the republicans? Presupposing the govt shutting down isn't a good thing. All I hear is about how the GDP is being affected, how the shutdown is causing problems left and right. I wish most of the govt would stay shutdown. Every day the govt is shutdown is a good day for me. Less taxpayer money being spent on things that only benefit special groups. With many americans hands in the cookie jar, no wonder some of you are throwing such a 2 yr old tantrum at the govt being shut down, like they were suddenly punished by their parents (probably taking away their allowance!). All you teet sucklers will get your govt back, calm down.

Yes it's all the left wing making things up; nevermind the fact that there have been recordings of GOP house members stating that the shutdown was the plan from the get-go. Let's ignore the financial experts saying that the default will cause disastrous results to the US economy. Live in on fantasy GOP land.

Even if the GOP did want the Government shutdown that doesn't mean the want a default. BTW, the default didn't "destroy the fragile economy that we're in" just like the last 18 didn't. You are a media parrot.

All I see is the conflict between how badly the Tea Party wants to get their way and how that plays against how badly Boehner wants to keep his job as House Speaker.

Meanwhile, Obama is simply standing by with his arms folded and his chin stuck up in the air shaking his head side to side with a smirk on his face as he watches the Repub Party do a slo-mo spiral down the shitter.

If all of this dramatic in-fighting would have happened just before the '14 elections, Obama and the Dems would be delirious with joy. In this particular instance the Repubs are lucky it's happening now rather than later.

edit - But trust the Tea Party to keep pressuring Boehner this way, as that's all they have in the way of forcing the nation to its knees to comply with their far right agenda. If anything, it makes them feel powerful and in control like any terrorist holding a nation hostage would.

Yay. Just what we needed.

Remember that Obama's reputation will be the one that takes the hit as the US president that was in charge when the US defaulted on it's obligations.

Sound bites are what gets taught and spouted; not details.
You can see it happening here

Damn, that sucks. I was looking forward to voting for him in 2016 but he'll probably get primaried out if we default.
