Poor ignorant conservative, scared of things he doesn't understand. If you didn't constantly wimp out of discussions and questions asked of you, you'd almost be entertaining.

Yes, I'm sure you're used to being insulted. Maybe one day you'll figure out why people constantly insult you.

Really? The "I know you are but what am I?" I can't downshift low enough to debate with this level of stupid.

Republicans gave up everything except the 1 year mandate delay. They traded it all for one simple request. Democrats gave up nothing.

Some-one forgot PolySci 102
Politics is all about compromise to get what you want by giving a little up to the other person.

Obama does not have to negotiate - agreed - he stated such.
However, the Republicans can also use his same play book and as such it has become a problem.

From Nov/2008; this problem has existed; the Republicans are not needed - The Dems can run the country.

The Dems forgot that the tides will shift and now they are in charge but no longer in control.

Long memories of betrayals and slights exist in the halls of Congress.

Obama is president of both Dems and Repubs - his duty is to lead; at this point it has been a failure. He has decided to be President of 51% of the county and push around the 49%.

As always has been stated, one mans terrorist is another freedom fighter.
Just depends on which side of the fence you choose to stand on and the type of lenses you look through.

Last time i checked, the Democrats didn't hold the government hostage when Bush was president, stop equivocating something that doesn't exist.

The Dems shouldn't give ANYTHING because the GOP will use this tactic again if they're able to give any concessions.

Guys! Guys! I just got off of Skype with anand and he says that since a majority of the posters on the forums don't like Matt, he has decided that if Matt doesn't stop posting here any more he will close the forum. I asked him why he doesn't just ban Matt and he said he can't because Matt hasn't broken any forum rules.

So the problem is solved! See ya matt!

Consider that question asked a fourth time.

Saying you want fewer unrequited concessions is not giving anyone anything.

Why do you keep refusing to give even a single thing the republicans are willing to give up?

They gave up a bunch of non-starters and insisted on just one non-starter.

That's not a negotiation.

If they want a 1 year delay, pass a bill, get the Senate to pass it, and get the President to sign it. Or override his veto.

That is how our democracy works. That is our Constitution.

What they are trying to do would undermine both if they succeeed. Even an inch.

That's what the President is fighting for, your Constitution and your democratic rights as a citizen.

You bitched out of the argument. You wimped out, couldn't answer simple questions about negotiation or how asinine it would be if Dems shut down the gov't over immigration. So I threw an insult your way, mostly for wasting people's time. Deal with it.

lol. So in other words, nothing. Boy, you're really bad at this whole posting thing.

That is a bit strongly worded. I would rather that they all sit down and talk it through. I don't really care if the government is shut down if that is what it takes for them to approach this as adults.

Shutting down the government isn't being an adult.

I'm listening to an adult on C-Span2 right now. Senator Corker from TN, who is a sensible conservative Republican.

So if I keep posting here the forum will close? Sweet.

Why are you still posting here? Nobody likes you and your posts make this forum worse! Your posts are the worst thing to happen to this forum since incorruptible joined!
Everyone know that if this forum is shut down it will be your fault, so why don't you just do the right thing and stop posting?

Giving up all but one of your requests is nothing. Ok. You win. Thiefs come in and steal everything in your house but leave you one thing, you didn't lose anything.

How about you quit acting like a 14 year old and just put him on ignore? The answer to all of your anxieties regarding him is and always has been completely within your control.

There's no place like home, there's no place like home...

Boehner is justifiably (imo) frustrated that the Senate and the president refuse to even negotiate, demanding clean bills.

The back story to all of this is that the House has been sending up bills that are killed immediately before being open for discussion for quite a long time now, and the only way to force a debate on the floor for them is to pin it to government funding.

So the fundamental question is if the House, an equal body of congress has the right to have it's legislation debated on the floor of the senate openly and sent along to the president if negotiation is possible.

The President and Harry Reid would rather that not happen.

Listen, I talked to anand again and he said if you would just stop posting for a week, that would be good enough not to close the forums.

It's only a week dude! Just stop posting already!

NO. Infact I think I will ramp it up a bit seeing as how you love me so much.

Go ahead! It will only highlight just how horrible a poster you are!

For christ sake anand was even willing to compromise! He went from asking you not to post any more ever! To asking you not to post for only a week! You aren't even man enough to negotiate an have taken this absolutist approach! No worries though, everyone on anandtech sees you for what you are and your continuing non reasonable rejection of not posting (for only a week for crying out loud!) as the real reason why anand is going to close down the forum!

You could put me on ignore too! But then again, you would no longer have a reason to post here😉

Besides I don't think it's unreasonable for him to stop posting here, do you?

Yes, I think it's unreasonable. If he gives you that much distress, either ignore him on your own or use the forum tools. You have choices - exercise them.

The House has no authority to force it's Bills to be debated in the Senate. That's crazy.

The problem with the House's actions is they are not doing what they agreed to do. And they have no right to force anyone to renegotiate the deals they already agreed to.

It's not a real option to shut everything down. What are we going to do, go out of business ?

Anyone with any sense knows it's just a tactic, although the cost and the harm is real.
