Because Americans are cowards and assholes, they will trade freedom and liberty for safety. Gitmo is the evil side of our paranoid fears made manifest, a visible representation of our own unfaced evil.

In short we have dug a deep hole and buried ourselves in it. We have fucked ourselves with our own evil. We want to fix the problem but the Democrats are smart moral cowards. They know if they close Gitmo and somebody in there today harms us tomorrow the Republicans will turn it into a powerful political issue claiming Democrats are traitors and did something to kill our own people.

Democrats aren't going to hand Republicans a way to screw them just because they might like to do the right think. They are moral cowards who prefer to stay in office. You can blame the Republicans, however, for being the ultimate assholes, because if they didn't live off the evil of American paranoia and fear, they wouldn't be waiting like the spiders they are for the Democrats to fall in that web.

So when it comes right down to it, Gitmo is you. It exists because you are a coward and an asshole.

Explain Fear No Evil's ideology, retrospooty. Do you honestly know what it is and understand it, or are you just spouting propaganda?

kind of like how you are spouting off about "backpedaling" right?

The backpeddling is most certainly there (and no one is asking for things to be all tidy... some of us are just puzzled by the number of 180's we're seeing); retrospooty's grasp of FNE's ideology is not.

People here need to stop trying to jam their opponents into a neat, tidy little package convenient for flaming, and instead deal with them on a case by case, issue by issue scenario.

Who cares what you are called. It's what you are that matters. You probably have little in the way of real education, soul nourishing education and may have never heard in effect that:

Cowards die many times before their deaths, the valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders that I yet have seen it seems to me most strange that men should fear that end, twill come when it will come.

The sad fact about virtue is that only those who have it have any idea of its value.

I love it when you go off your meds...almost as much as I like it when Macro posts, sometimes more depending on the mood I'm in.

You sorta remind me of Maddox, except less sane. Refreshing!

Hi. The wake of the USS Moonbeam stirs up mud and gunk when it reaches shallow waters. It's not something we ships pay much attention to other than to wave.

Personally, I think it is kinda hard to tell if he posts when he is on his meds or not....he thinks he is trying to be intellectual and all, but in the end, he is just a babbling fool...

You remind me of a story about a man taken to hell and offered a choice to spend eternity behind one of three closed doors. Behind one he could hear people screaming, behind the next the sounds of weeping and wailing, and behind the one he picked voices yelling, "DON'T MAKE A WAVE". Behind that door, as he soon discovered were millions of people standing up to their necks in shit.

I heard just the same sort of comments you three clowns make when the good ship Moonbeam sailed through that room.

There there, don't cry. I'm sorry you're so disappointed but you could have spared yourself all this agony if you had just gone to school. Every school child learns that the President can only execute the laws passed by the legislature and is bound by the limits placed upon him by the Constitution.

I for one find it amuzing that you call the rubber ducky they give you during your baths 'USS Moonbeam'. Do you drive through the suds with it making motorboat sounds, or does it just aimlessly float there, alone...or does it just depend on the med level for the day?

I wish you a happily medicated day.....

Perhaps the President should have gone to school, too, before making such promises.

j: I wasn't trying to insult you. It was just an observation. Moving right along...

M: I wasn't insulted. I was just trying to show you that what we call observation can often be something entirely different, a thing called projection. One of the first things any seeker of self knowledge discovers is that what he sees in the world is what he feels about himself, what he projects out there from his own internal reality. A thief always fears people will steal from him, a liar that people are lying, or the hateful and disturbed, well you get the idea....... ;)

Not that I'm couldn't be hateful and disturbed, mind you, but that how you REACT to me can be more about yourself, the result of an unawareness of the source of YOUR feeling.......

As you may know, the heroes journey to the grail is often accomplished with by the aid of a mirror shield and a magical sword. The monster is hard for the hero to kill until the monster is shown who he is. Naturally, the first reaction of the monster is to become very pissed.

I wonder why I only project onto you, then?

Oh well... questions we'll never have answered I guess! :D

By the way, didn't you call an entire population of people "cowards and assholes", oh, about 10 posts back?

he never really answers a question directly , does he? I know I never got any relevant answers regarding the questions I asked of him in another thread...he always danced and dodged those questions without actually addressing them...

No, I was just demonstrating that when anyone has the unmitigated gall to elevate themselves to the station of a ship, the shallow water folk start throwing shit, and you, of course, happily obliged. In reality, naturally, my evolution beyond you is far far greater than that of any ship. ;)

Years and years ago, because of the consistent mechanical nature of folk who criticize me as smoking dope or being on meds, I added a line to my sig that you doubtlessly missed or failed to understand but was put there for the 'inferiority complected like yourself.

"It may not be so much a matter that I'm far out, but rather that you have never been anywhere."

As it happens, that while you fancy yourself to be original and clever, you are only another in an almost endless line of clowns who bore me to death with the 'meds' idea.

I will check. Last I looked late last night mine was the last post and had your answer. Naturally, because you don't know much, you probably think that because you can ask a question you can also recognize or understand the answer, and which, of course, in not true.

Well, since - by your own logic - you're a clown-like coward and an asshole who doesn't know much, I'm not sure why we're all here having this discussion, so... back on topic?
