Democratic National Convention

For the best Democratic Convention video experience, you'll need the Microsoft Silverlight plug-in and the Move Networks media player. We?re sorry, but the Democratic Convention video web site isn?t compatible with your operating system and/or browser. Please try again on a computer with the following...

Booo! Doesn't work on my Linux (Ultimate Edition) box. 🙁

Thanks

Better than being there.

Should be a DNCC sticky thread.

The Internets working fine on this Optimum (Cablevision) connection in New Jersey

11/2

and volume is fine too.

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper's suit and tie

My god man, you've known how long you'll be in on the stage and you wear that crap? 😕

Too late to call TLC's What not to wear.

I would try and stream it but my Comcast service blows. In the evenings, my supposed 6/1.5 connection (with powerboost stuff) slows to around 1/1 with humongous pings (>200). Someone in my building must be doing some bandwidth hogging or something.

I think I'll be choosing between pre-season MNF and the DNC for tonight's television experience. I figure they have a lot in common - the participants have little to gain, and potentially a LOT to lose. Both should be boring after a few minutes...

Oh wait - Weeds is on!

I actually checked my tv guide to see what time it starts today, and tv broadcast doesn't even start till 10pm.

Yes, it's all filler until prime time.

Giving people some token time on the stage that have done some work during the year.

Technology-wise this is about the best live-streaming of HD video I've seen yet. Much better than the crappy Flash based video that websites like Hulu uses.

BTW: You don't have to use IE (I don't), it works just fine under Firefox as long as you installed Silverlight and the Move Networks player.

none.
convention is a snore-fest. Why is it when people get up to a podium their speech has to slow down so much that they all sound inebriated?

Because they probably are? That and effect?

If I hear Michelle use something along the lines of this, and I believe she will, I'll throw up a little in my mouth.

"I had a dream. A dream of hope and I'm happy the dream is here.

is it just me or does the DNC sign kinda sorta look like the Chinese flag. big star with little stars around it....

Hard for the rest of the world not to see the United States as having some degree of connotation of being a theocracy when even the Democrats open their convention with a prayer that they will effect God's will (that was reported on the CBC).:frown:

I may completely disagree with ted but it is good to see him speaking with passion.

His hair is falling due to chemo and I understand his doctors warned him not to attend and he still gives a good rousing speech.

Good on him.

It's a nation founded by a christian majority on christian ideals where all religions would be welcomed. We have religious mottos all across the government, We like it that way 🙂

Man it hurt watching him speak. Virtually everything I saw, including the tribute video leading up to his speech was pure emotional drivel, intended to bypass as many people's normal thought as possible. The only real substance he had was his "healthcare is a right, not a privilege and the stance on the Iraq war". I quit watching it because I couldn't keep saying "What a load of crap" or my mouth would hurt.

The "Change" the Democratic party is wanting to get votes over will bankrupt this country, destroy our prosperity by rewarding every lazy slob out there for being a lazy slob.

It may be God's judgement on the whole world for Obama to win because I assure you, if he does, absolutely nothing will get any better for anyone in the long term.
