yeah i didn't even bother trying to puchase them altogether.. Got all 3 3 seperate times. I wouldn't blame them tho if they think it's fishy.. (to use the coupon 3 times at the same time.. sounds too good to be true)

So are you complaining about the $1 fee??

I am not sure why you would be charged $1, perhaps it will be refunded later (ala what paypal does to verify your credit card).

The 19.98 is for the first 3 months(ie you got 1 month free). XM bills in 3 month blocks ONLY, so you will be charged 29.97 every 3 months.

I have had XM for over a year now and have been very happy with it. Granted I paid WAY more than people are here but that's price you pay for being an Early adopter.

One of the main reasons for the cheap deal is Sirius recently came on line and is trying to get its own subscribers. Unfortunately I think Sirius is going to have a tough go of it. XM has a year head start on them and quite a few more channels to listed to as well so we will have to see. The good news is that its competition!!!

****FYI for those of you having trouble with BB. You can try to go to CC. My sister did this and had 100% success. Now this is a YMMV thing because she had already bought and paid for a system for her husband for his birthday and had them do the install work as well as got a warranty on the unit. So she went back for a second system (for her van) and they honored the coupon on all items and THE BEST PART is they went back and credited the $50 coupons on all of the previous stuff she got 2 weeks earlier for her husband. So as I said YMMV since she probably got this since she had already spent a bunch $$ in there and was spending more.

****Second thing to note is that according to the CC car stereo manager BB is being DIRECTLY REIMBURSED by XM Radio for this $50 coupon so BB is not losing out on anything. He found this out after he had to call about this coupon and XM agreed to reimburse CC for the coupon as well .... HOWEVER I don't know if anyone else will be able to pull this off as the manager had to get special approval or something from XM for CC to take this coupon.

Hopefully the $60 rebate will come for everyone as that is the only "IFFY" part of this deal. Even if it doesn't come through this is STILL and EXCELLENT DEAL!!

Enjoy it everyone!

Happy Holidays

Greg

I bought the three piece package at Best Buy last night but I had some trouble getting the coupons applied to both adapters. Their system would only allow two coupons to be used.

So today, just to check, I sent myself another XM e-coupon and -- SURPRISE -- for the Delphi, it now only lists the car adapter.
No more e-coupon for the receiver or the home adapter.
Looks like the deal is morphing.

However, Best Buy does have $50 coupons in the stores, which are stuffed in the XM propaganda flyers. It appears that it is to be used for a receiver and one adapter.

That rebate looks real iffy ------- it appears that you have to send in the "original" receipt.
If the receipt shows the coupon deduction, that's not good when you consider that it states on the form that rebate cannot be combined with other offers. Need to find a way to work around that one.

Gotta dance for some of these deals.

When I checked out, I told the cashier that I had three separate coupons, one for each item, but that the coupon said one per radio, so I'll need to do this with three separate transactions. She said no problem, and rang it out that way.

I did send myself a new coupon today so that I can get another vehicle adapter and my coupon does list all three Delphi product numbers.

I was hoping it would list the FM Modulator because I need to buy one of those now too.

I went in to BB over the weekend and did this deal. Worked like a charm. The BB car audio guy was surprised it worked on the kits too :) I had my wife do the car kit and I bought the receiver... I guess around $90 after both transactions. I asked about the FM modulator and the BB guy said it was coming in real soon, but wasn't sure exactly when...

Oh by the way, I just requested another XM coupon via e-mail and the poster above was right! They've removed the kits from the coupon. CRAP! That really sucks. I was gonna go back and get the home kit. Oh well. You snooze, you lose...

Does anyone happen to have saved the original coupon?

I got in before the coupon changed, but of course, I forgot to print it.

So dumb sometimes....so dumb.

The only ones I have are the ones I printed out...hopefully they'll still be accepted when I make my trip to Best Buy to pick it all up.

Just to add my 2 cents, this is a great deal if you can do it. Even if you can't get the 2nd coupon, it's still a great deal. Once you get XM there is no going back. I've had it since August and haven't listed to FM since.

I can't believe I went in the other day with two printouts. I figured I only needed one. But the cashier wouldnt do it 3 times for me. He said I need 3 separate copies, even if they were the same! Damn and I only had two on me. So I gave up the receiver and got the two kits since those are the pain anyways. Now I gotta go back with my brother's printed receipt to get the receiver.

Also, the boombox looks pretty hot. I can't wait till it comes out. I just wish I could use the $50 coupon on it. =)

Think it will be a problem that there is no name on the coupon?

Unless they have recently changed their billing procedure than yes you have a MONTHLY service plan (ie $9.99) but your CC gets charged once every 3 months for $29.97. Or at least I should say that is how I have been billed for the last year.

Personally I would prefer the $9.99 month vs paying for 3 months ahead of time each time but its not like its a lot of money.

Just to add a little more confusion.
I went to a different Best Buy last night and managed to get the price adjusted on the home adapter I bought Saturday by using my original $50 email coupon.

Just for fun, I went over to the car audio area and asked the sales guy if there was some sort of a coupon deal on a Delphi satellite radio. This time the answer was that the coupons apply to the adapters and not the receiver it's $129.99. -------- Different guy = different answer.

They still have the XM Radio flyers (not the little red wagon) with attached coupons in the store but the coupon does not list any of the Delphi stuff. Oddly, the bar code on the store coupon and the email coupon is identical and that is what they enter to apply the discount. So why would whatever is printed on it mater after that?
Go figure --

This line in the rebate requirements "This offer cannot be combined with other offers" is not good.

From that I get that unless you have a receipt showing a full price purchase of the receiver, you probably will not get the rebate. It also appears that they want the original receipt.

They enter the Radio ID on the receipt at Best Buy. That ID is also required on the rebate form.
They probably match ID numbers on the receipt and the form. It's also possible that the ID may not get entered depending on who sells it to you (installer, cashier or audio sales guy.)
God knows what might happen then.

It also requires activation in which case the ID would be used ----- with XM.

See for yourself -------- here's the rebate requirements:

Additional Promotion Details
Rebate applies towards the purchase of an XM Satellite Radio Tuner. Purchase must be made between June 15, 2002 and December 31, 2002. All requests MUST be postmarked by January 31, 2003 and include the receipt as proof of purchase. Offer valid in US only. Limit one Rebate offer per radio id. This offer cannot be combined with other offers. Please allow 8 weeks after claim is received by fulfillment company to receive your rebate. All rebates will be made in US dollars. XM Satellite Radio is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail and illegible entries. Fraudulent submission of multiple requests could result in federal prosecution under the U.S. Mail Fraud Statutes (18 USC, Section 1341 &1342). Keep a copy of your claim for future reference.

Hardware and required subscription sold separately. Installation costs and other fees and taxes, including a one-time activation fee apply. Pioneer and Alpine Universal Receivers (tuners) require separate antenna purchase. Dual home/car use of Sony "Plug and Play" radio requires purchase of adapter kit. Pricing is consumer only. All fees and programming subject to change. Subscriptions subject to terms and conditions included with the XM Welcome Kit and available at xmradio.com. Only available in the 48 contiguous United States.

I'll send it in and hope it floats.

Other than all that --- the gadget works great at home and in the office. Full strength signals off the repeaters.

If you don't care about the rebate, you may never have to activate because the demo channels change every time you power it up and you'll get a pretty good selection of channels by default.

The $49.99 Delphi modulator is due in the stores very soon and appears to be the best way to do a car install.
Will there be a deal on that? --- hmmm

Well the best way (for the best sound) is really to get a head unit (car receiver) that has AUX inputs.. and plug it straight through.
