Yeah, that's what I thought you meant.

I'm VERY interested in this, but I have a few questions for anyone who has one:

The main usage for this would be in a boat. I have an Alpine CD deck already installed. I looked in the owner's manual and it doesn't look like the deck has an aux input, so I'd have to run the FM Modulator. How hard would it be for me to install that?

Also, I know other companies have special marine antennas...are those a requirement, or will this work with just the fm modulated kit and car adapter kit?

Thanks to anyone who has any input!

This is a good deal compared to earlier prices, but they need to give this stuff away, if these guys want to stay in business . I read that these guys (XM, Sirus) are not doing too well and will most likely be gone soon. Look for this stuff to soon be even cheaper, if not free, if still available. I love all things satellite, and wish that it would work out, but I am not holding my breath on this one.

Edited for lousy grammar

bubbadu- I think it's the XM-01C (cassette adapter) or XM-01R (RF modulator) kits. They are clearing them out to make way for new Sony models. The store I was at had the 01Cs in stock, but not the 01Rs. They called another nearby store who had one 01R left.

Good Luck!

WooHoo!

Just scored the XM radio w/ home and vehicle kits - no problems at my local Best Buy. Plugged it in in the parking lot and listened to XM satellite radio the whole ride home. It seems like there are several "demo" channels out of the box w/o subscription (CNN, Discovery, RadioDisney, ...). I guess the rest will become available when I actually pay for the subscription.

Got one!!! Had a little resistance from the Sales Manager of that department, his boss said, no prob!! I just hope that the rebate works because the receipt clearly shows a $50.00 coupon.

I think I will have Best Buy do the free installation of the car kit.

Got the deal also:

To summarize (prices include tax)

XM Satelite Radio - $78.30

Car Kit - $17.15

Home Kit - $17.15

Final Total = $112.60 - $60.00 Rebate = $52.60

Not too shabby...The money saved easily will help pay for monthly fees!!!

Thanks all!!

You gotta mount the antenna on the outside of the car and get the cable inside. How do you do this without making holes or tearing up the weather stripping?

I am kind of annoyed, I have moved this home kit to every room in my house and have had very little luck.

1. Slap on trunk lid.
2. Close trunk.

I wouldn't go with Modulator route but they shiped yesterday from XM and will be in stores next week.

The modulators showed up @ my Best Buy yesterday. I'm thinking about trying to use one of the $50 coupons on it today.

I got in on this deal yesterday. Cashier let me ring out all three items separately with the same credit card. After rebate, each item came out to $17 and change. Great deal!

A good deal indeed. I picked up the tuner and the car and home adapters. Very cool. If the $60 rebate comes through then it will truly be a "HOT DEAL"!

Check out this site for custom installation ideas: http://www.pro-fit-intl.com/mount.htm.

Just find your vehicle and they show you how to install their custom bracket. I used their bracket as a guide and made my own and now I have a very professional/custom SkyFi install.

This deal is sooooooooooooo hot!

i'd like to congratulate everybody for not having a hard time getting in on this deal. as for me, i have to go to 2 diff. BB stores to get just 2 items, take note, 2 items only (tuner & car kit). 1st, went to new Orleans and guys told me i can only use it once for all 3 items. argued with him for 15 mins. but i surrendered. next stop, Slidell, La. same thing, a bunch of retards or ignorants. 1 sales rep even told, " no, you cannot ring them up one at a time. its got to be sold all at the same time. i know it because i just did it.":|

i wanted to stop in BB Baton rouge, but my little girl wanted to stop by @ Toys R Us till i ran out of time (they close early because its Sunday). anyway, i'll try my luck again to get the home kit B4 the end of this year. gggggrrrrrrr:|

also adding insult to injury, they charged me 130 for the tuner and 70 for the kit. all the while i thought it was a little bit cheaper.

wish me luck!!! again!!!

the worst possible scenario is that you make a couple trips. Buy one piece, go back (with another coupon) and buy the next. Some employees take that $6.50/hr. a bit more serious than others.

you see, that was the problem. those 2 BB i'd been too have no serious employees. there were a lot of people inside but also a lot of chatting going on between employees. you interupt them for a question, well, there goes your good deal gone sour.
