ACK so tempting.... I don't know what to do lol should I jump on it? Or wait for it to drop some more? I heard that the 2001 is better for gaming?

I game hard core and the 2005fpw is better IMO, i have two 🙂.

The screen for the 2005fpw is made my a different company (Phillips?) and has better features than the 2001fp. Ghosting is a little more apparent with the 2001fp from what I've read and the screen is dimmer. In the ned that's what made me go with the 2005fpw over the 2001fp, even though the 2001fp has more real estate.

GEE WILLICKERS!

Picked one up last time at $600 shipped, picked one up this time at $408 shipped! Dual 2005fpw, oh goodness. Thanks op like a fiend.

Also, the 2% DPA requires a coupon code. I had to google it to find it via "dell preferred account 2%"

I bought one last time @ ~450 with taxes. Had it exchanged three times only to get a perfect one. I posted this in the other 2005FPW forum: the third one was Rev A02 @ July 2005. Since these are @ ~#390, my assumption is a lot of you are going to receive monitors that have been returned by previous customers. Keep an eye out for the latest build and backlight bleeding. I also noticed that the prints on the wires of my 2005FPW (July 2005) are more finer and professional compared to the previous two that I returned.
Hope this helps the new 2005FPW owners. If you can get your hands on the perfect build, you can't go wrong!

My 2005fpw has grown on me. I now prefer it to my 2001fp. At first the brightness was overwhelming. Now I like the higher brightness and better contrast. Picked my 2005fpw during the March sale.

As Rossman said, act first and think later on this kind of deals. Great price and be sure to get the extra 3% by going through site like FW.

I think they switched over from samsung to philiphs...
I think samsung was better 🙂

THANK YOU FOR SETTING ME STRAIGHT ROSSMAN!!!!!!!

I must have been using expired coupon codes before.

$389.40 + 31.16 tax = $420.56

I've been waiting for the base price to go below the $400 price point and my patience paid off!

You guys better pounce on it this week. It hasn't been this cheap since April :Q

What are you complaining about? That's only $10.40 more than it's selling for right now. You can't even buy a stack of quality writable DVD's for that. 😉

I thought companies are not allowed to sale returned items at regular price, thats why they sell them lower as "refurbished".

Would a 6600GT be enough to power the latest games at the native resolution of the 2005? Taxing wise is the 1650x1050 more like 1600x1200 or 1280x1024? Thanks.

Don't suppose anyone has bothered to make a graph of the average price of different size flatpanels vs year just to see what the slope of the graph is? You know, just because they were bored or something.

How can you tell if a product is refurbished? Exactly!... Welcome to Corporate America. Do you think Dell, or any company for that matter, can actullay afford to refurbish every returned product?

6600GT can hardly run newer games @1280X1024 with max settings. Nonetheless, this monitor is appreciated because it allows you to run apps/games in windowed form. So, just like a CRT, it'll run a game @ 1280X1024 in a window with black bars on its sides. So you don't lose any quality by streching the game image 🙂. Beleive me, this is a very good deal to pass... buy the monitor. You'll be the king of the world once you get a perfect build @ this price!

I bought this monitor on 7/7/2005 @ $450. Spoke to a Dell rep who agreed to give me a coupon of $"amount hidden" in view of the current promotion. 🙂 🙂 🙂. And yes, he was Indian. I used Dell Chat.

Don't think Dell would venture down that road...trying to sell refurbs as new? We are talking big numbers here...

FYI

this is my second 2005...just got off the phone with a rep who is going to send me a replacement for my other 2005 (rev oo). It was developing some "bleeding" issues. I was getting a "water stain on wallpaper" effect on the right side of monitor. Needless to say, they are sending me a NEW 01 or 02 monitor next week and he told me to try it a few days before I send the other monitor back. If they do that for a replacement I don't see how they can justify sending out refurbs for a new purchase.
