<< boybands' main listening audience is teenaged. >>

Teenage girls. Finish the Sentence.

<< Now tell me, if I am singing boyband music to other teenager girls who like this stuff, what kind of a reaction do you think that brings, hmm? Well, >>

Judging by what I heard? Probably a good chuckle at best. Maybe If you werent such a dork, you wouldnt have to sing to girls to impress them. Pansy

ha ha ha

Well, I listened to "Back Here." The links were dead on the original tunes from your first post.

I don't think your singing was THAT bad. Seriously. The falsetto was a little painful, and you hit some flat notes, but overall it wasn't too bad. The song was kind of lame, but that's just IMHO.

Wanna do the very best thing possible to improve your singing? Take some vocal lessons from a good teacher. Seriously. I took some last year, even for a fairly short time, and they helpeed me SO much. You're not projecting at all while you sing, so it sounds lame and weak. If you learn how to stop holding back, you'll sound 10x better.

Whatever your original tunes sounded like, I am sure they are not great, but very few people shine right away. It takes work and practice. I've been playing guitar for a LONG time, and recording at home for about 3 years. My recording and production, my songwriting, and my performances have gotten SO much better from my first recorded tune, which actually is not too bad. (I had been songwriting for years before too, and I have some DOGS...) Keep doing it and you'll get better.

Like I said, take some vocal lessons. Despite what you think about "magic processors," pretty much all of the "boy bands" can actually sing. I think their music sucks for the most part, but I have heard engineers who actually recorded some of them say that the singing was amazing. They could just harmonize at will and their voices were great. No processor is going to make you sound THAT much better if you sound awful from the start. All of those kids have YEARS of coaching, and it makes a huge difference. You will sing more confidently, and that is the main problem I heard in the singing on the tune I listened to.

And yes, I do want to hear your original stuff, to see how it sounds, after reading everyone ripping you up. If you're curious, you can hear a bunch of my stuff at mp3.com - follow my sig... 🙂 (I'll ALWAYS let people hear my stuff when I am talking about the quality of someone else's.)

i dont know about any of you guys, but i dont want 12 year olds to pay any attention to me, thats just sick.... but i guess deeko is all good with it. i'll keep playing my APC and Tool while you listen to your teeniebopper meaningless lyrical muzak, and i will still have a sack in the morning.

Poor guy..

Some of you guys are just taking this episode to the next galaxy..

But ill have to agree with most of you - the vocals, lyrics are not great.. in time he *will* get better. Speaking of which, I too can sing pretty good except I have problems projecting my voice.. taken me years to tune my voice but still needs some improvement. but anyways..heh

From my impression, he's just doing for fun and some good laughs.. He's not egotripping or peacocking.. but some of you guyz' comments are just plain crude and uncalled for.

Constructive criticism is fine, but bashing someone's taste in music is a tad overcooked, and needless.

I mite as well give some of u guyz the pen so u stick it in his aorta..

heya Deeko 🙂

i havent listened to your songs yet, but i'll just say this: man some of you guys are children. You have the plain and utter stupidity to totally trash what someone does, but the worst part is that your criticism doesnt help - only there to spark a fire between people of your paradigm and his. So you listen to rock? good for you. So he listens to pop? good for him too. If you had any sense of a free society you wouldn't hold back those who try to voice their opinions or doings, but instead vilify them. But no, you guys like the macho, rocking, hardcore image that men have, and want to continue to make fun of those who do otherwise. The same goes for your image of girls as a whole - they ought to be teenybopping. If a girl came on here and posted her new 'single off her CD', would you take the p!ss outta her??? Even if she did have a crude voice???

Deeko, there's no way in hell i would have put up with this kinda sh!t. You've got courage man, that's what's gonna take you places.

i suggest you listen to his "songs" and read the posts from beginning.. i understand ur point but after seeing deeko's responds, i dont think he got what he didnt intend to get. 😉

Just curious, didn't you say you played Volleyball, Deeko?

Didn't even know they had Boys volleyball...they sure don't down here in Texas...

actually, it aint all bad... i love to toremtn my hallmates with those songs, posts some more and entertain me! 😀

I just listened to 'Back Here' and I must say that the comments of the others are quite exaggerated. You don't sound awful, although you don't sound too enthusiast when singing. The problems are:

* The genre (pop) sucks
* Love songs suck
* The lyrics sucked
* The 'music' sucked
* It was a real 'flat' song

conclusion: everything about the song sucked, except your singing. 😉

The song I listened to afterwards (Cradle of Filth - Portrait of a Dead Countess) restored me immediately to full health... 😛

Deeko: I think part of the problem is that a lot of people are flaming and not offering any constructive criticism on how you could improve. Any artist has to have thick skin. Constructive criticism is the only way to get better. If people say it's good just to be nice, you will not improve. It stings when you hear the criticism, but in the long run it makes you better and stronger when you realize that yes, it can be better, much better, and then you go and make it better. Good luck.

Yes I play volleyball. http://members.xoom.com/VBallGun3/main2.html. Yes there is boys volleyball...about 200 HS teams in PA alone, I think. In my county, it's the spring HS sport of choice to go watch(fall - football, winter - basketball, spring - vball).

Well that's cool. At first I honestly thought you maybe were playing with the girls (there are, for example, several girls that play football) because I didn't know there was boys volleyball. There isn't any at my school though; however that does not mean it doesn't exist.

I get the feeling Deeko may not like baseball. It may have something to do with phallic symbols in the sport.

I just think that any male that plays competative volleyball (note that we're not talking about beach volleyball next to tan girls in bikinis) is a little bit odd...

It can be fun. In the same context, I have played football with some female friends. But it's all for fun. But if they went to play competative football I would think it was a bit odd.

I can see why you would think that if you have no guys volleyball teams

<< PA must have some crappy baseball teams then. >>

Baseball is the most boring sport in the world. Our teams aren't bad, but the sport is boring in general, only the players' parents and girlfriends go to see baseball games. It's just not fast-paced enough.
