Debbie Wasserman Schultz's former IT staff flees to Pakistan

The media did more than just report. The media suffocated pretty much every other candidate and narrative by obsessing over Trump's every tweet, and as a result he was able to pivot from a mildly entertaining distraction to a populist anti-establishment threat.

Please. The primary voting Repub base loved the Donald. They roared in approval when he grabbed the mic & pushed his rivals off the stage into the orchestra pit. He's a transcendent charismatic figure like David Koresh or Jim Jones, just with wider irrational appeal.

The rest of the campaign was spreading the FUD about the evil Hillary, obviously aided by Russian espionage & psyops efforts.

Every other candidate? Are you talking about the primaries because that was before Trump really went berserk on Twitter and the reports about pretty much every candidate were quite prevalent.
Lyin' Ted. Little Marco. Yes, the primary season was all about substance.

I sure do. Convince me why I should provide the links. If you do a good job I'll provide them. I'm not interested in providing information to people that knee-jerk the sources like schoolchildren. It's a waste of everyone's time.

If you're truly interested though, you would find more value in researching it yourself.

There are four family members involved and rumblings of a fifth individual. Three have already fled the country, Imran Awan was arrested and is being held. This, after fleecing the Congressional Federal Credit Union while posing as his wife to obtain a loan on a house neither of them owned. The CU granted the loan and wired the funds to Pakistan where the others had already fled to. He was attempting to get out of the country.

He worked for various Democrats, some holding positions on committees that dealt with sensitive information. In February the bunch of them had their access cut off when it became too difficult to ignore that they had set up shadow servers which were duplicating information they had access to as IT staffers for these Dem's. It is suspected that they had hacked into servers for which they did not have clearance. What they were doing with this information is unknown at this time or at the very least has not been reported on.

Imran got his brothers involved and his wife. They were pulling down unusually high salaries for the work they were performing. The story finally became too much to ignore when they rented a home they did not even own to a former marine who discovered a lot of IT equipment in the garage. He notified the proper authorities while Imran made several attempts to retrieve the components.

This is a brief summary of what is known to date. It only scratches the surface of what is known. I've been reading about this for the last six or eight months and was wondering when it was actually going to come to a head. This could be very serious for national security. We can't turn back the clock but when will we demand that government officials start acting in a responsible manner? Ever?

All the Dem's this group was working for ditched them when the shit hit the fan. DWS didn't until Imran was apprehended for whatever that is worth.

Democrats did some stupid shit regarding this and they'd been doing it for over a decade in this case. Republicans do stupid shit too. But stupid shit like this needs to be exposed for what it is and there should be some consequences that are commensurate. Do we want to send a message that this type of behavior is not going to be tolerated or do we want to go meh, whatever?

Why are background checks not exposing bad actors like this either before they are hired or after? I think that's more than a reasonable question to demand an answer to. This time it's Democrats, next time it could be Republicans. It doesn't matter what letter they are associated with. We can't tolerate the security breaches any longer.

buttery males!!

I will say that republicans have indeed exposed a HEEUUUUGEE democratic problem going into the next elections..

There is no one on the Democrat side for the republicans to demonize these days...Hillary is gone and so is Debbie whatsherface schultz.

BTW- This "story" pales in comparison to the current epic meltdown taking place in Washington.

The high ranking Democrat was former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schutlz. Come on now, try to read a little. But this family worked for many House Democrats as they pooled IT resources. This family was also accused of stealing personal and private information from the servers they worked on.

Felix, this will BLOW YOUR MIND.
The neighbor kids mow my lawn.
I am registered as a democrat.
Their father is registered as a republican.

They mow a bunch of other laws too, many of them have Registered democrats living in them too.
Thus, the neighbor kids are working for the liberals, if the neighbor kids were to commit a crime, for example, burning all the books in the library in order to protest literacy, would that also be the fault of the democrats?

So what you are saying is your "sources" are most likely far right conspiracy sites. I am willing to bet that any link you provide would be full of Seth Rich stories, Jade Helm etc... too.

Of course. It's Boomerang, isn't it? He's a headline believer with blind spots big enough to fit an 18 wheeler.

Dems paid for the gas, didn't they?

That's where Repub logic leads.

Yes it is the fault of the commie socialist democrats. Their support literacy and building "public" (just a glorified word for Communism) institutions like libraries is what forced that poor child to have to defend his mind from the evil ideas contained in the devil's work. The only book we need is the good book.

Lyin' Ted. Little Marco. Yes, the primary season was all about substance.

Of course not but whose fault was that? Was it Donald and his team that ensured that or was it the media?

Don't blame the media for Trump giving the voters exactly what they wanted.

Exactly why I asked. He provided the literal response I assumed. A bunch of posturing with overcpmpensated righteousness. Followed by no actual links because it's all likely alt right propaganda. He doesn't ACTUALLY want to discuss anything, he's intellectually dishonest.

Good points and well said. Why the hell are Democrats hiring Pakistanis for their IT needs? This cat is accused of stealing information from the servers to which he had access, which includes DNC servers. One's IT guru needs to be at least as honest as one's banker, as one's IT guru has access to literally everything one does on line with almost no supervision. It's also worth pointing out that DWS was DNC Chair when they were supposedly hacked by the Russians.

Something else here really grinds my gears. This woman, under investigation for fraud, is allowed to flee the country with twelve grand in cash. Now, if you are Joe Sixpack (or at least, Jamal Sixpack) and cops find you with twelve grand in cash on your way to buy a car, it's gone, period. Get a lawyer and pay to get it back. Yet here we have a woman under investigation from fraud who is fleeing to Pakistan with twelve grand in cash and they "can't do anything"?

Amal was Employed by the HOR since 2004 & did part time stuff for Dems-

Some basic facts appear to be clear. Mr. Awan had been employed by the House of Representatives as an I.T. specialist since 2004 and his wife, two brothers and a friend began similar work in subsequent years. Over the years, he contracted to work part time for more than a dozen Democratic members of Congress, including Ms. Wasserman Schultz.

So it was Repubs hiring Pakistanis for their IT needs in the first place given that they controlled the HOR in 2004.

He's being accused of all kinds of things by the usual conspiracy theorists while the only official charge is mortgage fraud.

His wife left the country before any charges were filed & undoubtedly filled out the proper paperwork to take the cash with her. Otherwise it would have been confiscated-

Don't let facts get in the way of an opportunity to rant.

Man, it's hard to cut through all the FUD with this story. There is a legitimate complaint here against the mainstream press for not giving adequate coverage to this and not providing a factual narrative--Google and all you will find are slanted hit pieces from Daily Caller and the like.

The real issue here is why the hell DWS still kept this yahoo on the payroll EVEN AFTER he was barred from House systems and fired by other Democrats. Why pay an IT consultant when he cannot touch your IT??

The Daily Caller scooped & embellished the story before anybody else got wind of it. Their sister organizations piled it on higher & deeper. Now it's a matter of digging through their bullshit to get to the facts. They're excellent right wing propagandists & have already Benghazified the story.

Obviously he was still doing her IT work, since she had no one else.

There's certainly more here than meets the eye, especially given that Christopher Gowen is his lawyer. Dude has some serious pull for a Pakistani immigrant in bankruptcy just a few years ago. (Although, one correction to what I said earlier - The New York Times calls them Pakistani-Americans which would imply that they are citizens, unless the Times is taking some serious liberties.)

so this guy wasn't a "high ranking Democrat", nor a person a any real importance.

OK then, can we get back to the far more serious crimes of important people like Trump and his cabal?

It was never implied that he was a high ranking Dem. Read the title better.

If you don't think that being the IT guy to the DNC leader is of any importance, then that's your opinion. I would argue that someone with unabated access to the Democratic National Committee is of pretty high importance. But your last sentence clearly shows you only care about one side being looked into. As such, your bias is very disturbing. If you don't want justice against all wrong doers, then I have a much lesser opinion than I already have of you.

Have a feeling Felix would not have started this thread if it was a Repub staffer. It can only happen to dems seems to be his intended message. Makes him feel a little better about his Trump vote.

You are probably right, he wouldn't have. On the flip side, just like the regulars here who post only news that put Trump in a bad light, they didn't post this either. The fact is, that if this was reversed, all the left leaning networks (majority of news networks) would have ran with it, and it would have been posted here.

Little recap, and not even mentioning everything;
(not in exact order)
-Awan was first hired in 2004 to work for Dem Rep Robert Wexler (FL)
-Awan was the DNC chair's (Debbie) personal IT consultant, among many other Dems
-heat came down about his alleged illegal activity
-his laptop was seized, Shultz threatened a Chief of U.S. Capital Police after he would not give it back
-all his family members were fired, except for him. Shultz changed his title from "consultant" to "advisor" and kept him on the payroll until just last week when he was arrested
-Awan's wife and children went to Pakistan, with several thousands of dollars
-Awan wired $300,000 to Pakistan just before arrest
-Awan's old apartment was rented out, and the new tenant found smashed HD's and more
-Awan tried to get them back, threatened to sue the new tenant. They were given to the FBI
-Awan was liquidating his assets (properties) until he was arrested
-Awan's is arrested trying to leave the country
-immediately after getting arrested, Chris Gowen, a lawyer who worked for both Clintons, for many years arose to represent him. Right out of the left's playbook, calls for "islamophobia" is the only reason for his arrest
-it's being reported that Steve Wasserman (name may sound familiar) is Debbie's brother. He is the assistant attorney for the District of Columbia. Maybe a problem? Simple wiki search of Debbie shows this. Guess we'll find out.
-somewhere in there, Debbie got fired and the DNC refused to give the FBI the servers that they alleged were hacked by the Russians.

I went off mostly by memory, might have a few things mixed up. I didn't feel like linking a bunch of sites. Nothing is intentionally wrong, if corrected I will fix it.

Could he be innocent? Sure. Seems to be enough to at least look into it. You're either ignorant or a liar if you think if this happened exactly the same, but to the Repubs that it wouldn't have huge headlines.

Some back history where Aman was alleged to do some blackmailing, etc; https://nypost.com/2017/05/28/criminal-probe-on-capitol-hill-staffers-remains-eerie/

McDaniel said, “We have to get to the bottom of this, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz has obstructed at every level on something that affects potentially our national security. So to have this gentlemen try and leave the country yesterday, and now we know there is bank fraud and we know he destroyed these hard drives, when you read story about the Marine that found them in the apartment he was trying to rent. I mean, it is a long story but something we have to get to the bottom of. We are not hearing the Democrats talk about it at all. Where's Debbie Wasserman Schultz? And we also need to know why the DNC never turned over their hard drive to the FBI to review it as to their hacking situation. So the Democrats are on TV and they're grandstanding every chance they get, but they're not complying and they're not being forthright with their role."

https://www.forbes.com/sites/frankm...p-wasserman-schultz-can-explain/#22222ddd4414

Pretty accurate quote. If you don't agree this this looking into, as many others here do not, then you have no basis to stand when wanting everything under the sun (with less evidence) of Trump investigated. This guy may be innocent. He may also be guilty. Its worth looking into. Disagree with that, shows clear bias and proves that you don't actually care about finding out the truth and bringing people to justice, you only do when its the other side.

We'll have to wait until the proggies get up to speed on this although they'll be in denial from here to eternity.

Setting up phones and stuff... Such ignorance.

Good job Felix! It's a real bitch trying to keep these simpletons informed. Personally I don't think it's worth the effort anymore because this is the same group that was so emotionally involved in Russia, Russia, Russia! Until they finally realized it was about to implicate their team. Then, it suddenly became a nothing to see situation.

The left - ever blameless.
And the dumbest fuck since Zorkorist was banned and Michal1980 locked himself out of his house responds to the thread to cheer on the biggest liberal parody troll of all time.

Congrats!

1. That was most certainly the implication. Only 2 people think it wasn't.

2. As far as posting bad news about Trump the guy lies twice as much as he tells the truth. You have a critical mass problem.

3. One sided only postings. I along with many others including other media outlets were among the first to criticize Rachel Maddow with running with the bogus Trump tax return story. Said it was wrong and boneheaded. Unlike you more then willing to be critical of someone who's beliefs align with mine.
