He has just received a Email saying that his order has been *removed* Item is no longer available..We did all this from my PC when we got home last night ..and you can see the jumps in order#'s they were getting then ...So it's safe to say the were sold out around 1:45/1:50AM Last night...:frown: I am pleased though Engineer was right about Jumping on this Deal...;)

For those who got in Best of Luck , I did just call and my orders are going through my Friends is not.... So I hope this helps with time frames to anyone who has placed an order....

My time zone is Central Standard Time St. Louis MO.

I am pleased though Engineer was right about Jumping on this Deal...;)

I jumped in because I went to Outpost and did a little research. I discovered that they are headquartered in Connecticut (EST)...I then remembered an old order and checked the status online....it had the time with EDT in the listing....a dead giveaway! :D

Congrats to those who got this and wanted it....sorry to those who didn't. Keep your eyes open, you never know what might pop up and how long it will last! :)

Actually, Best Buy had the first 120GB Ultra Series Maxtor harddrives, CompUSA two days later, then Staples....

In reference to the warranty length, as long as you retain the original box - which states "3YR Warranty" - it doesn't matter what Maxtor posts on their website or states via phone/e-mail conversations. The published warranty period on the retail packaging takes precedence.

I didn't know that :my local BB's don't have them yet in St.Louis Metro area..;) Only CUSA has them on the shelf,BB has no Ultra series of any model that I've seen yet...or was it BB.com that you said had them first?

I price matched in the middle of the night by calling staples...

Price matched to $49.99 (outpost), added 7.95 overnight shipping... bought a pack of pens, used a $10 off coupon... anyway.. I'm not sure how they calculated everything.. all I know is that I paid $43.xx!!! I'm happy...

Did you send them both in same envelope with the original UPC or did you do them in separate envelopes and sent a copy of the UPC in for one?
Curious cause I just hopped on this deal and would really like to get both rebates (though even $80 after the one $50 rebate is not bad for an 80GB 8MB drive).
Thanks for the info!

So if my order is being processed and I already received an email with my order # does this mean I still may not get this drive?

Check that....you already made that "very clear" I just hadn't read far enough.
BTW - why is the "DEAL DEAD" ?

Someone posted on FW that the CSR from Outpost said to send both rebate forms in the same envelope (since same PO box on the forms) along with the original UPC and one copy of the sales receipt. Should be good to go! :)

I don't think so.
There's lots of sites that will cancel out of stock items, or at least not ship that portion of the order.
I don't think we could claim there was anything "wrong" with it unless we got billed......sucks.:frown:

I guess I just don't feel comfortable with places taking my credit card info for nothing in return:|

and are those bastards going to send me an email? If I didn't bother tracking it I would have never known it was cancelled.

I just tracked my order on Outpost's website and it says it has been shipped. Strangely enough I have yet to receive an e-mail from them saying so. Hopefully I got lucky one this one.:p

For anyone that got in on this order, I would recommend that you save a copy of the HTML page showing the drive for $49.99 after rebates. You never know if you'll need to reference this information to prove that Fry's/Outpost.Com was advertising this drive as such. Best of luck to y'all. :)
