I placed my order. I think it's a little late, but would the $10 off $100 for new customers work with these rebates?

Where did you see that promo?
I am guessing it will not work .. just realized it was for buy.com 😛

that blows, guess I was lucky to get one with a 3 year warranty, maybe I can get another. Thanks chemMan for clearing that up

I ordered one. Let's hope the rebates turn out to be no big deal.

Also I assume the free memory with hard drive is only for instore purchases?

Since the rebate states that only one rebate per household...can I buy 3 of these and have the rebate checks sent to 3 different locations (with same reciept to save on shipping).

Got in on (2).... My Name and My Girlfriends name.... (2) different addresses Mine and my mothers...Going to be good on both MIR's ......Thanxs McPhreak....Heads up to YOU🙂

I did youse (2) different Tickets on my Orders to make sure I get my $160 in MIR's ..... I would only be concerned if there were ticket #'s being looked at for MIR's here ..I would not know though:frown:

Bah! The 60GB L6Y2 I just bought has a 3 year warranty.

Maxtor does not trust their new 8MB cache drives enough to give them a better warranty?

Ugh. I wanted 3 of the 80's for 2 systems I am building, too. Now what to do?

I think the warranty info is incorrect, it is identical to the one I am looking at on my desk right now and on the box it says 3 year manufacturer warranty.
Waitman
P.S. Thanks for the post Mc Phreak!

BTW, I am not threadcrapping. Thanks for the post. It is just the only HDD's I have had fail on me were Maxtors. (I was lucky enough to have never bought that one flaky IMB drive model.) In fact the Maxtor's I just bought are the first after a couple of years or so. Anyway, that's why I am concerned.
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Both maxtor and western digital dropped their 3 year warranties and are now only giving 1 year warranties (except special cases, such as WD's "special edition" drives). Maxtor started the 1 year policy for all drives manufactured after Oct. 1st IIRC.

I just bought (3) Maxtor 80Gb 8mb cache Drives last week from Staples.com ,and they have only been on the market for a week ...Staples and CUSA were the first two to have these drives ...... They are all right here in retail boxes and Say 3 year warranty on the box. I even called Maxtor befor I bought them and they said there 8mb cache drives were there High end drives and carried there 3 year ....If this helps🙂

ah this forum is the DEVIL. i friggin bought a drive. hahaha. maybe iwont camp out at bb after all. now all i would really "want" would be the cdrw. dont really "neeed" that

Haha. I forgot that i still have the maxtor drive we got from Staples for $30 after MIR. But i could only use the $20 MIR from staples tho. So i think if i get into this deal, it would be possible for me to send in 2 *original* UPC codes for this Outpost reabte , and then send in the copy of UPC to staples (since they accept copies).

I don't know why they put copies will not be accepted for both rebates😕
I think this rebate confusion was discussed extensively in the Staples deal CherryBOMB posted.

Sometimes greediness gives headache

I ordered one and everything looks ok.. got confrimation email saying order came through but I also called about the rebate and they said that they was outta stock on these items... so I guess we will have to wait and see what happens...

fatboy!

looks like it might be sold out...getting an "oops" page when i click on the link for the 80gb drive now...doh!!!!!

ya i just got a e-mail back from them...
