Dead I think. If they took it off their site so quick, everyone will probably be getting a pricing error email soon.

Dead. Fcukin A. I am always the last to know these things. The price is up to 290.

Well good luck to those who actually ordered. Hope they honor the deal.

290 for a 3800+ X2 is still a hot deal.

The $290 3800+ is a single core Newcastle chip.

You are mistaken, they dont show the x2 3800 even listed, you are seeing the regular 3800 for 289.99. Maybe they just ran out of stock and thats why the link is dead? If a person saw they had a price mistake wouldnt they just change the price, not remove it completely?

By the way, i bought the last 120! j/k just 1 but now have to explain to landlord why rent wont be there till i get paid friday!

Relax a bit peeps. Clearly a price mistake, but they corrected it pretty quick, which is why I think the site went all whaky (not down).

They seem to have good credentials (resellerratings) and look a their OEM CPU warranty. 30 day return and 90 day warrant is pretty good these days.

I think they will honor those that got in, its a small loss to maintain good CS PR. Its hard to imagine in this day and age that any company actually considers this, but hey, there are always exceptions...

I was about to say I got a tracking number, but I just realized its from a different order with a a different company. My order as of 10:50am Tuesday says "open" and shipping says "processing" hmmm

On the off chance that this goes through. I may make this X2 available for trade or sale. I just put together an E6 Venice based build running stable at 2700 with decent memory speed and low timings. with a 7800GT gaming will be the only demanding thing I really do. Other than some scientific simulations...

My question is whether an X2 would be worth it. I don't see the multitasking being all that important. Oh wow I can have word and firefox and excell all running really fast!

It is much harder to get dual cores to overclock as well as a single core right? What is an average/typical OC for these 3800+ toledoes?

A 2500MHz dual core won't be as good as a 2700 MHz single core for gaming right?

Or are my assumptions all off and/or I'm missing some important info???

Thanks! One of these is going up for sale! Though I have to say, I spent a sh!t load of time testing and benchmarking to find my performance sweet spot, I don't look forward to doing this again, and with a dual core CPU to boot!

TIA

PS - since they pulled the product shouldn't this post be relabled DEAD?

That site has great deals on everything though combos especially.. Need to check more often.

You're right. I dont feel so bad that i missed it now. I have my 3700 running stable at 2558 mhz. There is a good chance that i'd see a decrease in gaming performance. I'll wait until next year's chips or pick up a 4400 x2 for cheap.

Wonder if they even have enough stock...
Even though it looks like my order went through (got a receipt) I may not get one... I was on the site before it went all wacky and got one in my shopping cart, but the site went crazy before I could check out. When it was back, it was still in my shopping cart and went smoothly from there, but im sure the product had already been removed...

Well there was a small craze in which everyone wanted a toledo core 3800+. Though they're not proven to be better oc'ers people seemed to have thought so at the time they were coming out.
