Guys don't cry about 3800.. Get the opteron 165 for $299. It's a better chip.. and cheap!

http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=BA22051

It has 2MB lvl2 cache just like 4400 x2. Is 939 and runs at 1.8Ghz x 2. With a little help all should run @ 2.4 if you have a clue.

I already ordered one this afternoon..stay tuned in CPU forum for OCing results if someone does'nt beat me to it they should be up by sunday..

Wow...very nice. I was actually skeptical that the price drop would actually mean, you know, a price drop at retail :p (since these things have been so expensive lately)

Yea sure $278 SRP but good luck finding it.. Monarch is selling it for $450!!! All that matters if how expensive it is relative. It's a better chip than 3800 and being sold cheaper right now.

shouldn't we wait for overclocking results before proclaiming it better? I am going to upgrade during winter break and I must know such things. Maybe the price will be closer to MSRP too.

And about the cache, all the results i've seen indicate AMD chips don't suffer as much from cache deficiencies... but i suppose getting this up to 2.4 means you basically got a 4800+...

2.4Ghz on this is a guarantee....

as time goes ... price drops... so does the quality of the chips.... earlier steppings hav higher overclocking potential...... at least for the case of venice, sandiego, opteron (CABNE !! )

All I have to say is F*CK all the people who whine when hot deals get out to the other websites like Fatwallet. You are being greedy and everyone else should have a chance at these deals anyway. Fatwallet is the origin of many deals that make it on here. So bite it....

I know they are selling it to the general public for less than the "great deal".

IIYama - e-Yama 17-Inch LCD Monitor w/ Speakers - 14ms Responce time, 350:1 Contrast Ratio, 1280x1024 - 17NE1-S
Promo Shipping UPS Ground Free For This Item!

$205

Edit * A gaming friend of mine, had an e-yama w/ 12ms response and said he had to return it as it was unplayable in BF1942 due to ghosting / blurring. He exchanged it for an e-yama Prolite E435S w/ 10ms and has been relatively happy. He still gets a slight blurring at times but claims it is a very good monitor. $200 for a 17 inch LCD doesn't strike me as a "great deal", as this is what I paid, a year ago, for my 19 inch.

Anyone know the reputation on the monitor?

Here is a review ..

http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_content.asp?id=glcd17&page=1

My first glance through E-Yama's specifications didn't even catch this, as I wouldn't expect a new monitor to have such a limitation in today's market. My second time through, it caught my eye. The E-Yama 17NE1-S only features 6-bit color support, as the maximum amount of colors the screen can display is 262,144. This means that if you run your graphics card in 24-bit or 32-bit color modes, the monitor will not display these colors in a true sense, but will try to do so through dithering. Does this limitation become apparent to the end user? For us, it was immediately. While the casual end-user might not catch this, anyone who sits in front of monitor daily will notice something isn't quite right. Grays seemed fuzzy on-screen, and colors did not look nearly as vibrant as they were on the 172X.

Fast response, but otherwise pretty cheezy...

Not to mention the ' great deal ' is $1 more than than their regular price..
