Ignorance is bliss.

Yes, you should know.

Notice the title is "Dead Wrong: Inside an Intelligence Meltdown" and NOT "Big Lie: Inside an Evil Administration."

While you Bush-hating fanatics practically spooge all over yourselves in sanctimonious ferver while watching this, keep in mind that if there was any REAL, HARD, and CREDIBLE evidence that Bush actually, knowingly LIED, there'd be about a dozen impeachment hearings going as we speak.

Spin Spin Spin and eventually YOUR lies might convert a few more dullards. After all, that's all this is: a political fistfight, f*ck the truth....

Pal, if you're too friggin' stupid to realize when you've been lied to that's your problem.

Oh goodie, a Leftist using their tried-and-true favorite tactic of declaring everyone (100+ million people?) who don't agree with their slimy "reality" to be stupid. That's original for you people

yes, our intelligence failed us and so did our leaders. i thought that invading Iraq would open a whole another set of problems for us, and it did. Iran is and was our main problem. we need to come up with a strategy to get rid of the regime there without violence. remember, China is also pulling the strings on Iran. all our enemies are connected, they share intelligence and their main goal is to harm USA

the Iranians love us and need our help in their fight against the mullahs.

Try to realize, if we'd waited for the UN inspectors there would have been no reason to invade.

I think the point is that Bushistas created a policy perspective aka "How to invade a sovereign country while pretending to be righteous" and then proceded to "find, refine, massage, stretch, obfuscate" any and all available information to justify the policy.

It's abundantly clear that members of the Bush administration said things that they KNEW were not true at the time they were said. Members of the Bush administration said things they had good reason to believe were not clearly true. Members of the Bush administration said things that they couldn't possibly know to be true or not . . . yet they said them as if they were true.

Bush gets the benefit of a doubt for two reasons:
1) He's not intellectually curious . . . so it's reasonable to think he didn't know or care if what he was told was "truthful" or "best evidence."
2) Most people don't want to believe their President is a moron or a liar . . . unless of course they didn't vote for him.

No, I said that if YOU are too stupid to realize when you're lied to.

The other 99,999,999 can't realize it then that goes for them too. But by the look of recent polls there aren't as many people who are that stupid anymore.

Ah, the truth hurts doesn't it? :cookie: for the troll prize post of the evening. At least Raildogg made a few points. Hard to do an impeachment when surrounded by party fanboys running the rest of the government.

Maybe, if we get lucky, the American people will impeach the party in 2006!

I'm sure the truth hurts- you that is. Ah yes... the all-powerful Repubs run everything and have this government (and the people) locked down  There can be no impeachments, those EVAL Reps won't allow it!!

LOL, you clowns oughta take your circus somewhere else.

Why of course you don't comment on the "cooked books" and false intelligence that we went to war on. Of course you don't make a comment on Powell saying (after his UN speech to go to war with Iraq):

"I wonder what it will feel like if we put 500k troops in Iraq, march from one end to the other, and find nothing."

Of course you dismiss the pouring through 65,000 pages of information for 10 years that showed NO connection between Iraq and Al-Qaeda, and was then dismissed by the administration.

Of course you don't mention any of these things...you simply sling your partisan bullshit trolling.

Nearly 1,800 men and women, who serve our country proudly, have died for a lie. Over 10,000 wounded. Over $200,000,000,000 spent on a farse.

I tell you what, take your troll attitude and go find a pretzel and choke on it. :|

Right... people who think the war isn't going well obviously think Bush LIED

BBond, you and people like you will find success in some places -like Europe- but will never gain a foothold here in the US. You see, Americans see themselves as good, decent people... and as long as a major plank in your vitriolic mental spasms includes tearing them down and insulting them continually for not agreeing with you, you'll be properly cast aside like a $2 whore.

I suspect he knows, but like another member it doesn't matter. The "good" result is that Bush got us into this war. If they had to deceive the public, so be it.

The terrorist free Iraq is gone. The secular govt. is gone. Saddam is gone (the only good thing in this whole sad affair).

NOW we have terrorists. NOW we have a govt. which is headed towards being another Iran. It's the natural consequence of our actions.

Neocons are frustrated right now, because everything they promised has fallen apart. Their religion of Democracy isn't doing so well as the religion of Islam.

Their fiction of a world has fallen apart. Now damage control and denial is the best they can do.

I would almost feel sorry for them if they werent responsible for tens of thousands of deaths and a less safe world.

Americans see themselves as good people as their leaders lie and thousands upon thousands of innocent civilians die. Thousands of soldiers die.

Here's something from a $2 whore that you won't hear from your millionaire president. You people allowed Bush to do to Iraq exactly what bin Laden did to us.

You should all be so proud.

As I thought...all of those people on the inside including Powell, his chief of staff, David Kay, CIA people....they're all liers in yours eyes.....otherwise, Bush would be going down. He should be...he should be.

I'm glad you find this war amusing. It was a worthless lie...and the American people are waking up to that fact.....so get used to it. You PNAC boys had better come up with something to scare the public before 2006 elections, or things might be slightly realigned.

What's this truth you speak of? Oh, I already answered it above...EVERYONE is lying except Bush. The evidence was solid and those people who said that Bush wouldn't take no for an answer were lying. It's a conspiracy, I tell you.

Bah, you're full of yourself and your PNAC attitude. Let's see you guys fool the American public again!

What some of you can't get through your heads is that the Intelligence community didn't fail us,
our Government failled their intelligence test by discarding fact and promoting myths.

When will the villagers rush the castle and go after the Frankenstein Monster, torches at the next election cycle.

You complete babbling fool, there are no impeachments or investigations because the Bush White House and congressional leadership refuse to hold any. Remember, Republicans only spend $70 million dollars on investigations that come up with zilch when there's a Democrat in the White House. When the real crimes are committed the Republicans are all too busy making money off of them to bother with those pesky investigations.

face it, Bush is and was a wartime president. 9/11 helped the Republicans more than the Democrats and the Republicans were smarter than the Democrats in using 9/11 as propaganda. they made the right moves and control all of government

yes, Bush wanted war in Iraq. did he knowingly lie? don't know.

if Bush knew there were no wmd's in Iraq and still went to war, then he should be removed from office. but i doubt that was the case, but who knows

as for the 2006 elections, i still see no major victories for the democrat party. they are a party of no ideas but just endless attacks on Bush. i used to support the democratic party, but they have left me. especially after 9/11

i think Hillary Clinton is the best hope for them. she is smart and knows how to play the game of politics. Bill taught her a few tricks and she already is very bright. if its Arnold vs Hillary, I would pick Hitlery.

So when they say that he selectively looked at intelligence and dismissed "Solid" (65,000 pages) of evidence, wouldn't take NO for an answer and then went before the American public and gave WMD stories and nuclear reports that had been totally dismissed by the intelligence findings, then it's not a lie? It was a simple mistake? I could understand if every document that he used was 100% whole and they all pointed, but to pick your points, dismiss the "meat" of the reports and cook the books just to convince the people it's time for a war.....it all equals a lie.

Sorry you can't see through your partisan blinders past your nose to see it. Of course you never will.

How does the PNAC failed experiment now look that the administration is considering that Iraq will never be what they thought? Islam is now being enshrined into their constitution and an New Iranian theoracy is being born?

Even the cooked intelligence and "LIES" couldn't get the Iraqie people to fall into line.....too bad!

Ah, another thread hijacker who doesn't want to talk about the inside evidence just presented. Start your own thread on Able Danger and other BS. This is about the cooked books of the regimine in DC and how they duped the American public into their deception and war.

Really? Funny, because the Senate is considering holding claims to investigate this. Are you accusing Lt. Col. Shaeffer of lying?

One would think that "BS evidence" would be included as part of the 911 commission report so we know best how to reform it.

This CNN broadcast is reshowing at 11? Maybe I'll catch it then over a beer.

On the contrary. It has opened our eyes to these precise intelligence failures.

"Saddam (Hussein) must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons," Clinton said.

Operation Desert Fox, a strong, sustained series of attacks, will be carried out over several days by U.S. and British forces, Clinton said.

"Earlier today I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces," Clinton said.

"Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors," said Clinton.

Clinton also stated that, while other countries also had weapons of mass destruction, Hussein is in a different category because he has used such weapons against his own people and against his neighbors.
