Actually it's the Right that generally frets about intelligence failures... while the Left branches off into the so-called conspiracies and lies of the Bush admin.

Interesting...what I've seen is more along the lines of many people on the left and the right wondering about intelligence failures, some people on the left saying Bush intentionally mislead us, and some people on the right ignoring all those issues and simply bitching about the left whenever it comes up.

Seems a little more realistic to me, but then I suppose it might get in the way of the people in that last group. Oh well.

Recording this now but I'm just listening mostly. It's CNN after all and they're most likely just going to whitewash it again.

So they just had a speech by Cheney on saying that Saddam was making chem/bio weapons and restarting his quest to obtain nuclear weapons, then the CIA guy said that they weren't clearing speeches at that point. They began clearing speeches later after the Iraq debate heated up.

So Cheney is out there twisting arms then using the biased intel as fact. Is that a good enough definintion of a lie for you people yet???

Yep. Cherry picking the evidence....and even making it up (as CIA hadn't even issued ANY evidence at that point). What a crock!

20,000 documents totaling 65,000 pages with absolutely NO evidence of State Sponsored (i.e. Saddam) support for Al-Qaeda. Dismissed by the administration!!!

Watching this, you realize what a fvcked up snow job that this administration did to the Congress and the American people, and they all fell for it. Very sad!!! The outright dismissing of intelligence and hand picking other intelligence to justify a false war....which has done nothing for the security of the US (except take money away from it that could have been used for more useful purposes).

Fool them once shame on them....fool them again? We'll see.

Now they're talking about the aluminum tubes and how the intel community, other than one analyst, was telling them these tubes were not proven to be what they were claimed to be. And now we know they weren't. And they're talking about how the Bush administration all used this as evidence that "the threat may come in the form of a mushroom cloud" even though they knew they had no real proof.

The intelligence on Iraq's nuclear program was "guesswork"? WOW!!!

Absolute proof based on solid facts said the administration.

They tried to force the intel community to provide information to suppor their pre-ordained agenda then used that information as though it was fact.

LIE

Cheney declined an interview for this report so why did CNN use a clip to give him the opportunity to spread more lies without being questioned?

Now they're talking about Bush pulling out a year old piece of uncorroborated evidence that Tenet had once before told Bush not to use.

They let it go because the White House speech writers changed the source to the UK instead of the US.

Ridiculous.

The information for Powell's UN speech wasn't an intelligence document but a "chinese menu" of reasons for Powell to choose from.

David Kay, "Powell hadn't been told that the source for this information had been flagged as a liar."

"Curveball" had a reputation as a liar but "this war is going to happen and the powers that be don't care" about the veracity of "Curveball".
