The reason its slow is because the dam program maxes out your upload, therefore your download will suffer because your upload pipe does not have enough room to ackknowledge the download packets.

I sent the tech support and email about that. (using max upload)

If that is their plan for getting updates and patches to users, it needs to be fixed ASAP.

Please be sure to send them a complaint as well.

Thanks.

Actually, it IS surprising, since it's a torrent... where the more = the merrier.

well I just went over my college's bandwidth limit (3GB) to get this. Guess I have to wait another day before I start playing.:D

How is the server loads like?

faq says:
Will you charge people to play the open beta?
No, the World of Warcraft open beta is absolutely free. Blizzard is not charging a fee for you to play the open beta.

ahahahaha, ive been in since alpha. You guys never had the joy of trying to pull down the 2gig downloads using the torrent clients.

Some people may be getting slow downloads because they are behind a router, google up bittorrent and routers and you will find some ports you need to open to make bittorrent sing.

also, kick down your settings to modem so that the client doesnt saturate your bandwidth uploading.

its better now, as matter of fact, i have d/l over 300gig with bt....

it was slow because there weren't many seeds if any at all...now there is 5-6 seeds there....

I wonder if the BETA is now closed. It's kind of annoying, but what can you do when it's free? lol
