Hey, that sounds pretty smart, i'll remember to use it next time, haha

Hmm...the session should timeout though otherwise it's bad coding...

So a phone call is going to tip them off but 10,000 orders in 30 minutes won't?
Their going to cancel all the orders anyway.

I don't think Dell has session timing. I hit refresh after 3 hours and it's still good...

I did exactly that on the 400SC 3.2 deal a while back. The trick is to be on the final page @ checkout otherwise it's history.

I had one of these as back~up in my cart but hadn't moved it to the checkout process. When I tried about an hour later it was no go. :(

Good luck, you may just have the edge. It worked for me on the 400SC deal way after it was over!

So... Don't turn off your puter/close your browser until they have it back in stock?

Not exactly back in stock but after they have sent out the cancellation emails & everyone starts their lawsuits! ;)

& yes don't close your browser but ya can minimize it & by all means don't turn off your computer or go to the site again (till you're ready) without opening a 'new' window.

Well sometimes they take a few days to cancel. That would suck if the computer crashed.

Yeah I just put super tight timings on my memory, too. I've got to take it easy, but I need my battlefield 1942 fix... Oh the agony!

I too have greatly enjoyed watching this fiasco unfold. Especially the part about the negative voting on the thread @ the wallet :) I hope I get mine.....and the 25,000 other ones I ordered to give to needy children in Iraq...jk..I only ordered one, but I did order the RF transmitter to go with it.

well, my order has finally appeared in my dell account under "order status"
here's what it looks like:

Your item(s) is being processed and should ship by the estimated ship date.
Pending 11/3/03

SKU: A0183048 Quantity: 1
Description: 20 GB Rio Karma MP3 Player

One can only hope.......

Edit: like most of you probably did, i paid approx. $81, i don't really care about the rebate, if i actually get a 20GB mp3 player for 80 bucks i'll crap my pants. i'll worry about the rebate later.

haha now all the ebayers that already posted that they had a rio karma for sell have to pull there ads and they ended up losing money, so those that were to greedy with the thought of making the fast buck ended up losing them money and the people who just wanted one for their own personal use, no harm no foul.

Anyone stupid enough to put a listing up on ebay on such a longshot order deserves to lose money. I seriously doubt that anyone experienced in re-selling would have listings up on this. Lastly, use punctuation.

why would you have a listing even before you have anything on hand?
not to mention, they totally undercut existing seller's price by a huge margin.
shame shame ebayer...
