According to Staples' pricematch policy, you should be able to print off the page on the link i provided above, with the price of $59.95. Take that to your local Staples and ask for a pricematch... The policy states this: "When comparing our price to another company's delivery price, the equivalent shipping and handling charges will be included. If proof of the other company's shipping and handling charges are not supplied, then $5 will be added to the other company's price."

So, the price they should give you should be $99.99 - $59.95 - $5 = $35.04 * 110% = $38.54 price diff

$99.99 - $38.54 = $61.45

So you should pay $61.45 + tax at the store, then send in your $80 rebate, and get paid about $15 to buy this thing. Good Luck...and did i screw anything up? 🙂

Edit: Oh yea, and thx need4spd...couldn't find that 🙂

I just purchased it online, but it says it won't ship until the 21st. Can I bring my online receipt to a Staples B&M and have them honor the price with coupon and then cancel my online order???

Ok, It says only one rebate per name, family address. What will happen if I just used the $70 rebate (expired last week) for the same scanner. Will they say that because I used that $70 rebate, I can't use another rebate for the same scanner or do you think they will honor both rebates? Anyone ever had this situation?

Decided to get in on it this time since I passed the first time around with the $70 rebate. Lucky me 🙂

I like getting my stuff in-store since there are a ton of staples around me. The latest printable coupon I have is a $15 off $100/$30 off $150. Can anyone tell me where I can find bigger ones? If so, PM me.

Is this the same scanner for the President's Day sale? There were a few other free after mir stuff there, so I might wait to use the bigger coupons.

I just called the rebate center and they said that we can use the $70 rebate and the $80 rebate without a problem.

<< Unfortunately while looking into your order, I have noticed you have a $20 coupon applied. The
rebate center will not accept your rebate with a coupon applied to it as well, the offer is not
valid with any other offers or promotions. We have had to charge back your coupon. We have also sent out a courtesy coupon for $10 to cover the additional rebate, you will receive the coupon in the
mail within 7-10 days

I don't think Darcie knows wtf she's talking about, unless the rebate policy has changed. I haven't had a problem as of yet.:Q

Man,

NEVER NEVER ask. Now they will look for that. It was never an issue before, but might possibly become one now. I hope they do not start checking all the rebates now.

Jon

I'd contact your credit card and dispute the charge. You did not authorize it, nor sign for it anywhere. Just a thought.

I think the only reason we get away with it is because they rarely check. I used coupons and rebates together several times without problems. But the rebate center could categorize the coupon as a "promotion" and reject it.

What I often do is actually buy something else, even if that is also a rebate item, so both items are on the receipt. If they try to reject it, I'll tell them that the coupon was applied to the other item. Sure, that might not work, but it just might...

If you have a local Staples... why not just walk in with a printout from one of these places 8100
and do a Price Match (no coupon) and then send in for the rebate.

I did this last week... the CSR had no problems matching the deal from etronics (added $5 for shipping to their price) My total out the door was $75!

I find that most of the CSRs don't even bother to look if the item has a rebate...

hehe.. may get another one.. you can never have too many free scanners 🙂

Good Luck!

It's been awhile since I bought am item with a rebate from Staples B&M. Do the rebates print out right on the receipt? That would be a flag to the CSR not to allow the PM.

I totally agree. Besides, there is no way the rebate center know your payment method. For example, if you paid by gift card, it will show up as coupon... The store I shop gives gift card as store credit when you return products...

Actually, Darcie seems to actually know what she's doing: the rebate policy does state that it isn't valid with any other offers/promotions.

Normally, the rebate folk probably don't check for it - e.g., it's been slipping in under the rug.

Still, it's a good deal on a decent scanner for $20. Thanks MysticMan...

<< I did not call and ask anyting about coupons and rebates -- All I wanted was to know their policy on pricematching themselves on better deals ($80 now vs. $70 a week ago) and that is the response I got. I think she is SCREWED UP TOO and to my knowledge, Stapels has NEVER disallowed a rebate with a coupon. My problem is now what do I do -- Since my Order is obviously Flagged by this wench If I insist on the coupon and they disallow the rebate, I be screwed worse !! Greed is a BAD BAD thing. Again, I have NEVER seen staples do this before and do not think they will for anyone else. I just wanted to warn people NOT to ask ! >>

They were checking a while ago... I'd say about 6-8 months ago they told me that I could not use a coupon along with a rebate. They did that both in store and online at that time.

If I have AMEX blue, I don't even have to use the coupon code right? Use AMEX to PM with www.etronics.com. $63.52 - $80 MIR = You make about 10 bucks after tax. And that way I don't have to worry about the conflict between coupon and rebate. I never used AMEX before, will they PM any internet vendors?
By the way, does Staples charge shipping fee?
